37 Billing and payment Cost Staff time requirements Insurance Driver qualifications Scheduling Limited service area boundaries Limited service hour availability Passenger security Other Other issues to coordination? n with othe agencies l organizations to provide transportation service? Check all that apply. Ranked Barriers to Coordination What issues have you encountered in coordinating or How do you coordinate with agencies marked? Most needed change sto improve transportation coordination We provide the vehicle and driver for Head Start and they provide a teacher to ride along and Human services contacts us for their passengers who need transportation services Brown County Heartland Epress We do our best to use the same volunteer driver for more than one client but changing appointments, asking clients to wait for each other and planning ahead refuses to 9 coordinate. Sharing drivers, changing appointments to coordinate with eisting trips, Clients being willing to wait, clients calling in soon enough to allow for assessing possibilities and making any changes, some neighboring counties not willing to share trips Unwillingness of Brown County More communication, more time Heartland Epress to to analyze how appointments share drivers to could be changed in order to Mankato and coordinate, unwillingness of Rochester clients to wait for others, This agency purchases transportation from these other agencies. Vehicles are also shared on an emergency basis Anytime a vehicle is used by more than one entity, the entity that owns the vehicle becomes liable for anything that happens to that vehicle. Coordination becomes difficult under these conditions. All we transport is school children. We are running to near capacity, no room for etra people Church uses on weekend and some evenings, All drivers are qualified, and particiapte in vehicle orientation and training. They pay daily fee, plus mileage if out of town
38 This agency purchases transportation from these other agencies. Vehicles are also shared on an emergency basis Anytime a vehicle is used by more than one entity, the entity that owns the vehicle becomes liable for anything that happens to that vehicle. Coordination becomes difficult under these conditions. Community Transit has contractual agreements to coordinate rides with agency clients and the general public Community Transit contracts with other organizations in order to coordinate rides with multiple passengers whenever possible Church uses on weekend and some evenings, All drivers are qualified, and particiapte in vehicle orientation and training. They pay daily fee, plus mileage if out of town Unwillingness of riders to adjust We contract with the above groups and coordinate their passengers with other passengers for shared rides whenever possible times to allow for 9 coordination Central location for calls and dispatch or a minumum a way to see trips that are scheduled throughout the area They contact us and we work out a way to transport their clients while still being available for public transit! Will will work with anyone to help someone get the ride they need On occasion the group home will borrow a van. This does not happen often We don't have concerns in these areas Just need to sit down with people and work out a reasonable schedule between the people trying to coordinate! Standard messaging by human service and other organizations -- dispelling the myths and untruths We need our vans at very specific times during the workweek No Availability of other transportation providers to assist with out of town transportation on short notice
39 we call them to transport various clients no transporting challenging people. Transporting returns from hospitals after hours. N/A Hire SUB DRIVERS We share sports with another district NA We need to keep WESCAP in service for the elderly and young kids We have requests for rides from all of the above Working with all agencies involved. We try to coordinate rides so that we can keep the cost of services as low as possible for the passengers we serve We have a contractor transport one student for us we have a schedule of pick ups times the are done on a daily basis 1 We use Rock County Heartland Epress to transport residents from our facility to appts, etc. We have also coordinated with Medi-van in the past limited availability to transport our residents More bus availability through Heartland Epress and etended hours/borders. WCA transit provides volunteer drivers for families as needed and Head Start reimburses that cost
40 No concerns Medical assistance needs to pay providers a reasonable fee instead of these private companies like peoples epress and medivan removal of insurance requirements so we can accept payment (at least reimbursement of costs), removal of limitations to Heartland Epress driving to edge of County or to a neighboring County common drop and pick up points
