1 Fall 2018 Guide to SERVICE EXPANSION and FARE CHANGE
2 Fall 2018 Guide Service Expansion & Fare Change This fall, Community Transit is adding more trips on popular routes, and changing some routes to serve more people. Service changes The Swift Blue Line will operate every 10 minutes between 6 a.m. - 7 p.m. weekdays. That s an extra trip an hour in each direction on our most popular route. An early morning trip will be added to start the weekday Swift commute at 4:20 a.m. in each direction. New midday and evening trips to and from downtown Seattle will be added on Route 413. This provides more options for workers and shoppers who don t travel during regular commute hours. Route changes will be coming to Route 109 in Lake Stevens and Route 196 in Lynnwood, and additional trips on Route 120 between Canyon Park & Edmonds Community College. These service changes take effect starting September 23. Fare changes Community Transit will also raise local bus and DART paratransit fares by 25 cents, simplify commuter fares, and increase vanpool fares by about three percent. These fare changes take effect on October 1. If you purchase a monthly pass, be sure to adjust your fare purchase in mid-september. Details are available on page 6 and online at communitytransit.org/newservice. 1

All local bus and DART paratransit fares will be increased by 25 cents. The same fare will apply to all commuter routes (400 and 800 series): Adult - $4.25, Youth - $3, and Reduced fare - $2. Vanpool rates will be increased an average of $14/month, based on size of van and length of trip. See chart at communitytransit.org/vanpool or contact your vanpool coordinator for details. Commuter fares apply on 400 or 800 series bus routes traveling between King and Snohomish counties. The full commuter fare is required, regardless of trip length or where you board the bus. Fare Policy Change A new fare policy will take effect October 1 that charges commuter fares for all riders of 400 or 800 series routes, regardless of where you board or de-board. If you are riding these buses within Snohomish County, you must pay the commuter fare. This policy was adopted by the Community Transit Board of Directors last fall. 6
