33 HEUCOSIN - technology HEUCOSIN production = mixing and dispersing through an edge mill. 1. kneading 2. shearing 3. stroking Through this 3-step process the pigment surfaces tension will be mechanically reduced followed by desagglomeration and stabilisation. 40 Floating & Flooding The Challenge Floating and Flooding of pigments depends on Difference in particle size, specific weight and shape Difference in density and surface tension (depending on temperatur) of the binder system. Convection in the drying film leads to separation of the pigments due to the different density.
