7 Timing and testing Although this is a new movement, it should still be tested to be sure that it s within a reasonable specification. Miyota don t publish specific specifications for this calibre so, typical values are used. I use this Horotec tester for all tests and the watch is shown in the final accuracy test with the case closed showing accuracy of seconds per day or a gain of approximately 2 seconds per week. 10 Overall I don t work on many quartz and although I ve fitted this one with a new movement, I still need to run the tests and these are shown on the previous pages. It s a nice watch and thanks for picking me to work on this. The operating instructions are very simple. Pull the crown out one step to set the date and another step to set the time. As noted above, in the latter position, the watch is consuming far less power than when running so, that can be used if you alternate between watches. The watch will not pass a true water resistance test so, caution is advised. You should remove it when washing your hands but, as you re used to wearing it anyway and it has survived this long, just keep doing what you always did.
