4 S ERIES 10" Basic Semi-Automatic Model The Neotron Series 1000 filler is the basic semi-automatic model of the Neotron System, offering a new standard of auger-filling accuracy. Both mechanical and computer control are advanced design features improving machine accuracy by more than 30%. This allows more precise filling, with less product giveaway. The Series 1000 is available with a wide variety of accessories for filling free-flowing and non-free-flowing powders as well as liquids, creams, slurries and pastes. Fill sizes range from grams to 50 pounds with accuracies of ± 1% or better. It is well-suited for use as a stand-alone filler or it can easily interface with existing conveyors or package makers to make a fully automatic operation. The Series 1000 uses Mateer-Burt's proprietary pneumatic clutch brake built to handle bigger loads with less stress. Simple replacement of the clutch-brake cartridge offers "new-machine" performance quickly, easily and inexpensively.

Combined, these control the final package weight to an accuracy usually within ± 0.25%. MicroSet's easy pushbutton setup, programmed to include the Trial Fill feature, adjusts the system for the correct weight while it reduces total set-up time. The optional Density Compensation feature may be added to adjust the filler automatically for deviations from the target weight. Other options for the Series 1200 filler include an automatic bag clamp for use with flexible containers, net-weight filling with automatic container tare reading and a printer interface. The Neotron Series 1800 is an advanced precision-controlled auger-filler system. It eliminates the entire clutch brake and drive motor assembly by using a state-of-the-art stepper motor or servo motor. These improved designs produce an auger filler that is more accurate, has greater control and flexibility and contains fewer parts than traditional designs. While not designed for every filling application, the Model 1800 Precision- Controlled model is ideally suited to small fills of moderate torque and speeds. The MicroSet Control not only audits filling accuracy and corrects for deviations from set-points, but also controls machine performance and container indexing. The variable speed conveyor with automatic indexing controls is adjustable for containers from one to seven inches wide. Both bottom-up filling and container vibration options are available. The Series 3000 filler, like all automatic Neotron machines, features all-stainless-steel product contact parts and cabinetry. The Neotron Series 3033 is a singlehead, automatic auger filler similar to the Series 3000 and with all its features. Continuous control of both container handling and product flow assures smooth, positive and clean filling performance. Accuracies of this volumetric filler approach the performance of gravimetric filling equipment. Single and dual auger models are available for line speeds up to 400 containers per minute. Glass, paper, metal and plastic containers may be used with Series 6000 fillers. A unique orbital upper turret vibration combines with bottom container vibration to assure compaction of product in containers. 43 The Ultimate Dual Lane Machine The Neotron System Sigma3 is a computer-controlled, dual-lane auger filling machine designed for high accuracy and high-speed operations. Its twin computers control all aspects of the powder filling process from initial set-up through final production reports. The Sigma3 is a sophisticated, net-weight, bulk-and-dribble filler with three separate scale systems in each of its two lanes. A single computer controls all aspects of this single-lane operation, providing the same ±0.15% accuracy at speeds up to 50 containers per minute. Both the Sigma3 and Sigma3 SL filling systems offer an optimum balance of production speed and fill accuracy. S. :IALS Custom-Built Series For Specific Filling Applications Neotron System special fillers are available in addition to the standard series of Neotron machines. These are designed individually or can be used in custom-built arrays that will satisfy unique filling needs. This custom-built Neotron machine system, (Fig. A) uses four filling heads to dispense four different products, by weight, prior to their blending in the large hopper. Various combinations of products and weights can be programmed to yield different blends. Popular models of Mateer fillers are still available to satisfy customer demand. MATEER MODEL 31-A Versatile Semi-Automatic Model The Mateer Model 31-A is the world's most popular auger filler. Its versatility and excellent service record have been proven in thousands of applications throughout the world, where it has been used with all types of powders, liquids, creams and pastes. Fill is controlled by Mateer's Digi-Count electronic digital counter. The auger cycle is regulated to 1/100th of a revolution to provide excellent accuracies. Augers are interchangeable with pumps for total product handling flexibility. Product contact parts are stainless steel and all fittings are quick-disconnect to facilitate clean-up. The Mateer Model 31-A filler can be installed with indexing conveyors or package makers for fully automatic operation. It is capable of sustained operations at 60 to 80 fills per minute and can be relied upon for millions of trouble-free cycles. MATEER MODEL 32-A2 Dual-Auger Bag Filler Model The Mateer Model 32-A2 filler, the "Bagger", is a dual-auger, net-weight system designed for filling non-free flowing powders into pinch style bags. Typical speeds are three to four bags per minute at an accuracy of ±2 ounces on a 50-pound fill. The automatic bag clamp with its integral dust-collection shroud raises the bag for a "bottom-up" fill to minimize dusting. 90 to 95% of the fill is volumetric with the balance topped off using a reduced fill rate and the electronic scale.

A standard duty electric clutch brake (Fig. B) is effective for light to medium speed and torque loads. A heavy duty electric clutch brake (Fig. C, rated at 95 foot pounds of torque, is used for tough, demanding filling applications.
