1 Calibration Schedule and Tolerances Version 12 December 2015 Notes 1. Newly purchased Items listed below must be calibrated prior to the end of the first calibration interval if supplied without a calibration certificate. We strongly recommend that you hold a valid calibration certificate for any item attached within this list and any other relevant items that are utilised within your business that are subject to calibration. Point of sale invoices are not evidence of calibration however will denote the start of the calibration interval period. Commercial option items must be calibrated and hold a calibration certificate from start of use. 2. If you identify an item of equipment that requires calibration and is not shown on the current list, please contact Tools & Equipment with the details. Tool.equipment@vwg.co.uk 4. It is always recommended that any item of tooling subject to calibration used during a repair that the serial number is recorded on the job card to support any recall due to defective items. If a defective item is noted that compromises safety you should contact your area manager immediately to discuss recall options 5. The Calibration tolerances will appear on all calibration documentation at future calibration visits. Any discrepancies noted should be discussed with your calibration provider. It is your responsibility to ensure that all calibrated equipment is correctly labelled and that all calibration documents are filled. Records must be stored for 5years. 7. A list of approved Calibration companies that hold the correct information and Equipment to complete your calibration requirement as set out by the factory can be obtained from the tools and equipment information pack on Desktop 8. The equipment listed below is subject to calibration, we would therefore like to offer you advice regarding tools and equipment storage, reminding you that it is paramount to ensure that accuracy and longevity of these items. For more information regarding tool storage please refer to your relevant Desktops, Erwin, standards documentation and the tools and equipment information pack. 3. Torque wrenches must be able to accept both a socket or insert where applicable. If your torque wrench currently only has the fixed ratchet type head, you must purchase a torque wrench that will accept inserts. Please refer to your Mandatory Tools and Equipment list. 6. It is the Authorised Repairers responsibility to ensure that all items of Tools and Equipment on your site that are subject to calibration are presented for calibration and hold a valid certificate. Any Item that fails calibration should be repaired and recalibrated or decommissioned and removed from site. Text in BLUE is new Text in RED must be read 1.
