7 Page 7 of 8 Method of Documentation of Acceptance: By brand and manufacturer s certification. Certified lots are shown above. The manufacturer shall furnish to the Resident Engineer and the Materials Division a certification for each lot certifying that the material supplied conforms to all the requirements specified and stating that the material is formulated the same as the material tested for QPL listing. This certification shall include: /formulation name Lot number Date of manufacture Lot quantity Purchaser Destination of shipment Quantity of shipment Formulation percentages The Contractor shall furnish to the Resident Engineer a copy of the above certification for each lot of paint used on a project at the time it is used. Containers shall be clearly labeled with: s name /formulation name Lot number Date of manufacture on the top and side of the container. Method of Approval: The manufacturer shall supply certified test reports from an independent testing laboratory showing that the pavement marking paint complies with the requirements of Section of the ARDOT Standard Specifications for Highway Construction. All certified test reports shall include: The manufacturer s name, /formulation name of the paint, Date of manufacture, and Testing of parameters listed in Section (c)(2) including an infrared spectra of the vehicle used in the paint. Spectra shall be of the total vehicle and of the vehicle solids only. The manufacturer shall provide a one quart sample and product information, including printed instructions for application. When specified by Section of the Standard

8 Page 8 of 8 Specifications for Highway Construction, the manufacturer must provide documentation on the brand names of the raw materials and the percentage used in the formulation. Continued approval of a formulation will require constancy to the supplied information and initial testing. Any changes of raw material components in brand or percentages must be submitted to the Department for review. When deemed necessary by the Materials Engineer and at a frequency determined by same, samples of materials listed on the QPL will be taken and tested on a random basis. This testing will be done to affirm that the material is in conformance with the specification.
