3 IMPORTANT NOTES READ THESE NOTES BEFORE ASSEMBLING AND CONNECTING SUPER ORBIS MODULES. Super Orbis LED modules are to be used only in a series circuit with a CONSTANT CURRENT power supply. Do not use a Constant Voltage power supply (e.g. 12V) in any conditions! Super Orbis connections can have up to 500V voltage. Therefore connections must always be made with the electrical supply Switched Off. Make sure all connections are made in a proper way before switching the sign on! Look for polarity markers before connecting supply. Do not reverse the polarity as irreparable damage to the LEDs will occur! OUT CONNECTS TO IN ALL ALONG THE CHAIN. At the end of the chain use a gel filled 3M 314 connector to splice POS + and NEG wires together and complete the series circuit. Do not exceed max quantity of modules per driver! Do not scratch the lens! Scratches may cause shadows on the skin. Super Orbis LED module requires heat sinking with aluminium back tray minimum 100cm 2 per module i.e. 10x10cm square aluminium composite sheet. Page 2

4 STEP 1: PREPARATION OF MODULE ASSEMBLY The lowest installation temperature of Super Orbis is 10ᵒC. Unreel modules carefully and by pulling directly. Avoid strong pulling of wires. Module wires may sometimes be bended downwards. Before assembly, wires should be adjusted carefully back and straight. Be careful when handling modules. Do not scratch lenses, since scratches may cause shadows on the skin. Page 3

5 STEP 2: MODULE ASSEMBLY Use pre-mounted adhesive tape to install modules. Be careful when removing protective foil, do not touch the tape. Install modules only on powder coated aluminium or aluminium composite. Use cloth to wipe off any dust or dirt on installation surface. Press modules firmly for 3 seconds against the surface. Organize and attach module wires so that there is no direct pulling stress for modules. Wires need to have at least 50mm clearance from black heat shrink tube before turning them. Page 4

6 STEP 3: MODULE CONNECTION CONSTANT CURRENT power supply max. 700mA - + 3M314 connector IN - side is always connected to power supply. OUT - side is the side for completing the circuit. NEVER CONNECT POWER SUPPLY TO OUT - side of a module. NOTE 1 NOTE 2 NOTE 3 STOP! Look for polarity markers before connecting supply. OUT connects to IN all along the chain. Do not reverse the polarity! Complete circuit with a 3M 314 gel connector. Connect to power supply match neg ve symbol on first module to neg ve on power supply. Power supply can be connected to mains only after modules are connected to power supply and circuit is completed with a connector. Page 5

8 WARRANTY WARRANTY PERIOD LED modules: three years from date of invoice Power supplies: Philips & Lightech three years from date of invoice. Accessories: one year from date of invoice Under these warranty conditions we will repair or replace items returned to us and found to be faulty due to faulty materials or manufacture. The buyer is to make a written claim under this warranty within seven (7) days of detecting the fault. Warranty exclusions Except as specified below, the warranty covers all defects in material or workmanship of the product. The following are not covered by the warranty: a) Defects due to the use of product against the guidance provided by Oshino Lamps (UK) Ltd e.g. reverse polarity b) Defects due to the use of other than recommended accessories or products of equivalent characteristics and quality c) Any labour costs caused by removing, returning or replacing the defected product d) Any consequential damage, such as loss of profits e) Any product if the defects or failures result from any cause other than our neglect or fault, including, without limitation: - accident, shipping, neglect, misuse, abuse or other default of or by the customer or any third party - any attempt by any person other than authorized by Oshino to adjust, modify, repair or service the product - any act of fire, flood, war, act of violence or any similar occurrence which may be considered Force Majeure.
