He was raised on a farm, after all. Gary is the oldest of five and grew up in New York state near the Canadian border. His father ran a mid-sized dairy operation and his mother was in food service for St. Lawrence University. As a youngster, Gary was very active in 4-H. The most important thing he learned was the 4-H motto, To make the best better. His father was, also, a significant influence in his life. Early on, his father told him, Whenever you are working for someone, do the job the same way you would want them to do for you. It was apparent at an early age that Gary would be leaving the farming business. He knew that eventually he wanted to get involved in Education. He graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a Math degree. He has worked as a software developer for the last 30 years and lived in New Jersey, Louisiana, Texas, and now Missouri. He is a professor in Information Systems for the St. Louis Community College at Meramec and has a systems consulting business. Gary has his Master s degree in Adult Education and is developing software to enhance and support text book publishers. While working for a systems firm in Dallas, Gary met the mid-western recruiting manager, Terry Hennessy, at the company Christmas party. After losing touch for a few years, they reconnected and married. Including Gary s daughter, they have four children and a busy life. Gary would tell you that he is a bit surprised to find himself so involved in theatre, something he did not have the chance to learn much about it in his youth. New York City was quite a ways away. Thanks to a referral from Lee Meyer, Gary s wife, Terry, was hired by KTG, and the rest, as they say, is history. Gary is a gifted problem solver and loves working on solutions to the problems that putting up a set involves. Growing up on the farm taught Gary to be a fix-it kind of guy. His greatest pleasure at KTG comes from assembling a team and working together to accomplish a goal. He has also enjoyed helping others become more involved and to take leadership roles. Gary has been Master Carpenter on several shows and has even tried his hand at set design. He has enjoyed learning the craft from long time volunteers Geoff Harris, Jason Wiesenberger and Merrick Mohler. They generously shared their many experiences to help Gary get an understanding of set design and construction. In turn, he has enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. Of course, Gary does a lot of other behind the scenes work for KTG from helping with the building maintenance and computer troubleshooting. Some might be surprised to learn that Gary had the lead in a musical several years ago produced by his church. He has always enjoyed singing and in the past has been active in church choirs and performing with a quartet. His current interest is remaining behind the curtain developing out of the box solutions for set building. A great example is the new approach KTG has adopted for platform building. Gary developed a system that cuts the time and process to a fraction of the previous efforts. KTG has provide Gary with many new and valuable friendships, a part of the experience he cherishes.

Andrew Leslie Homer Smith, an ex-gi who takes a temporary handyman job at a Southwestern farm maintained by five German nuns. It is the cherished dream of the Mother Superior to build a chapel. She is convinced that the personable Homer has been sent from Above to help her realize her dream. He protests loudly and rudely, but she will not be dissuaded. How Homer accomplishes her goal, endears himself to the surrounding townsfolk. Aas he heads off into the quiet night the meaning of what he has accomplished begins to flourish and grow, creating a legend which, in time, brings fame and success to the nuns and instills in their hearts a lasting gratitude for the simple man who saw their need and gave unselfishly of himself to meet it. Auditions January 13, 2013 Move in February 16, 2013 Opens March 1, 2013 Annie Get Your Gun, music & lyrics by Irving Berlin, book by Herbert & Dorothy Fields, Revised by Peter Stone Annie Oakley is the best shot around, and she manages to support her little brother and sisters by selling the game she hunts. When she s discovered by Col. Buffalo Bill, he persuades this novel sharpshooter to join his Wild West Show. It only takes one glance for her to fall head over heels for dashing shooting ace Frank Butler, who headlines the show. She soon eclipses Butler as the main attraction which, while good for business, is bad for romance. Butler hightails it off to join a rival show, his bruised male ego leading the way, but is ultimately pitted against Annie in a final shoot-out. The rousing, sure-fire finale hits the mark every time in a testament to the power of female ingenuity.
