3 The Family Business In 1780 Captain Otto Friedrich Ahlmann came ashore to pursue a career on land. The Ahlmann family s commercial activities focused on the businesses in Schleswig-Holstein and in Denmark during the early years with the first major investment being the Carlshütte cast iron foundry being established in Büdelsdorf in In 1946 Josef-Severin Ahlmann set up in Büdelsdorf a new company ACO manufacturing concrete building components and in the late 1960s ACO developed polymer concrete which became an important material for the production of line drainage systems. In the 1970s ACO Group expanded into new markets and started establishing production and sales companies outside of Germany. During the early 1980s Hans-Julius Ahlmann took over responsibility for the future growth of the ACO Group and under his visionary leadership the company has experienced significant expansion, diversification and globalisation. During 2012 Iver Ahlmann, the son of Hans-Julius Ahlmann, became managing partner to secure the long-term future of the ACO Group. In 2000 the division ACO Marine was established with the target to promote the systems and solutions of the ACO Group within shipbuilding and off-shore market. 10 ACO Collection Tanks Collection/Mixing/Equalising tanks are made from high grade stainless steel AISI316. Tanks are equipped with aeration system consisting of starter box, blower, rota meter, pressure and throttle valve, manifold and aeration elements for aeration of wastewater collected in the tank. ACO Sludge Tanks An alternative to ship structural tanks, ACO free-standing Sludge Holding Tanks are made from high grade AISI 316L stainless steel and are bespoke to the customer requirement. Design includes discharge pumping and integrated aeration.

11 ACO Clarimar MF Designed and built in Europe from high quality AISI 316 stainless steel or fire-resistant durable polymer material, the ACO Clarimar MF is Type Approved to IMO MEPC 227(64) and EC MED Module B. The Clarimar MF is a high capacity black and grey water treatment system with a small space-saving footprint. The ACO Clarimar MF biological sewage treatment plant incorporates ACO-MF bio-sword technology, eliminating the requirement for settling and chlorination stages. Disinfection of the treated effluent is by in-line mounted UV lamp with no requirement for chemicals in any part of the ACO MF process. Simple automated operation requires minimal operator intervention and maintenance. The ACO Clarimar MF is suitable for vacuum and gravity-based systems and can be piggy-back mounted for additional space savings. Lifting stations ACO Marine can supply a range of lifting stations for all sanitary fluids, including grey, black, galley wastewater streams and condensates. Aeration Station All ACO Marine aeration systems are designed specifically to aerate the vessels structural tanks. The system includes blower, sensors and all aeration elements for the entire tanking system.

12 ACO Central Wastewater Management & Control System ACO Marine s RM3 wastewater management control system provides balanced distribution and transfer of wastewater around the vessel. It incorporates a touch screen panel and offers remote control of the entire wastewater management system. Including collection, transfer and treatment. ACO Installation ACO Marine can design, install, commission and service your complete wastewater management system providing through-life support. Our design service uses the latest 3D modelling techniques for all components supplied as well as compartment modelling working alongside the yard design team.

13 The heart of ACO Marine vacuum sanitation system ACO Marine s new vacuum toilet range incorporates market-leading benefits, such as super-silent operation as standard (<80dB); adjustable flush water volume (to as low as 1 litre/ flush); easy-clean bowl design with integrated vacuum reservoir within the toilet itself allowing up to four flushes in the event of vacuum system failure. At the heart of the sanitation system is ACO s powerful and robust vacuum generation and dual phase sewage/air pumping unit. Of compact and low weight design, and available with capacities ranging from 90 to 670 flushes per hour, the pump creates a strong vacuum with up to an 8m suction lift. This means it is capable of pumping effluent directly to holding tanks and onto ACO Marine s Clarimar MF and Maripur NF wastewater treatment units.
