2 ST, XT & SU SELF PRIMING PUMPS Heavy duty, self priming trash pumps. Reliable dirty water and solids handling pumping performance for water treatment, raw water, processing, irigation, agriculture, mining, oil and gas. VERSATILE HEAVY DUTY SOLUTION Southern Cross ST, XT and SU series pumps are self priming, heavy duty trash pumps designed to handle a wide range of pumped product and applications. ST, XT and SU model pumps feature a tough and compact design and are capable of self priming up to 7.6 metres. ST and XT models are available in sizes from 2 inch (mm) to 12 inches (3mm) discharge and are capable of flow rates from 1 to 3m3/hour ( USGPM) and heads up to 62 metres (23ft). SU models are available in sizes from 3 inch (7mm) to 6 inch (1mm) discharge and feature high efficiency, high head performance capable of flow rates from 8 to 12m 3 /hour (3- USGPM) and heads of up to 44 metres (144ft). Southern Cross ST, XT and SU self priming pumps are capable of passing waste and solids up to 7mm in diameter making them excellent in dirty water and waste water applications. The rugged design can withstand the rigours of continuous heavy duty use with simple servicing and easy maintenance.. BACK PULL OUT DESIGN ST, XT and SU pumps feature a back pull-out design which allows removal of the rotating element for servicing without removing suction and discharge pipework. This feature reduces downtime during routine and unscheduled maintenance. QUICK AND SIMPLE MAINTENANCE ST, XT and SU self priming pumps feature a maintenance hatch which allows quick access to the pump casing and impeller so that blockages can be removed and maintenance can be carried out without any requirement for special tools or disconnecting pipework or drives. The access hatch combined with the back pullout design allows easy access to replace impellers and mechanical seals and greatly reduces downtime for routine maintenance, the removal of pump blockages and replacement of damaged or worn components. WIDE RANGE OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS A wide range of materials of construction are available to suit any application. Standard construction pumps are cast iron casing and wet end with 414 high tensile steel shaft and 316 stainless steel mechanical seal. Other materials available include A216 cast steel, CD4MCu Duplex, 34 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel, austempered ductile iron and C276 Hastelloy. SOUTHERN CROSS ST4 SELF PRIMING PUMP. 3 OPEN IMPELLER The two vane open impeller in ST and XT pumps allows the passage of solids up to 7mm (3 ) in diameter and the SU models feature 6 vane high efficiency open impellers that can pass solids up to 32mm (1.2 ). SHIMLESS EXTERNAL IMPELLER ADJUSTMENT The pumps feature an externally adjustable impeller which only requires an allen key or fixed wrench. This system allows for adjustments to be made to the impeller clearances without having to open the pump casing. This allows users to easily optimise performance and efficiency while extending the service life of both the impeller and wear plate. MECHANICAL SEALS 316 stainless steel mechanical seals with titanium/tungten-carbide faces are fitted as standard to all ST, XT and SU self priming pumps. Buna O-rings are fitted as standard to cast iron and cast steel pumps and Viton O-rings are fitted as standard to all other pump construction varients. Other O-ring materials available to suit specialised applications including high temperature, acidic or alkaline applications. PROTECTIVE COATINGS AND PAINT Southern Cross can provide an extensive range of internal protective coatings and external paint options to suit any application or installation environment. The rugged design of the ST, XT and SU series self priming pumps provides reliable and efficient performance in a range of heavy duty applications including transferring dirty and waste water with solids up to 7mm in diameter.
