27 APPENDIX 4 Tyre regulations Tyre regulations 1) During the entire Event, including the free practice and warm up session, only the use of approved Michelin Porsche Cup racing tyres, which are intended to that particular model by size and compound, is authorized 2) In order to secure the tyre service, all tyres should be obtained from the official tyre supplier appointed by the Challenge series. 3.1) Class 3 Michelin slick tyres for dry weather: Front 25/64-18 (Porsche Cup N2) Rear 30/68-18 (Porsche Cup N2) Michelin wet weather tyres for wet conditions: Front 24/64-18 (P2L ) Rear 30/68-18 (P2L ) 3.2) Class 4 Michelin slick tyres for dry weather: Front 27/65-18 (Porsche Cup N2) Rear 31/71-18 (Porsche Cup N2) Michelin wet weather tyres for wet conditions: Front 27/65-18 (P2L ) Rear 31/71-18 (P2L ) 4) All tyres are fitted with individual serial numbers at the factory and these numbers will be used as follow up record numbers. 5) During the entire Event the Competitor is allowed to use authorized tyres as follows: - for qualification and races a maximum of two sets of slick tyres, one of sets must be used ones, all tyres must be recorded in the follow up form - the number of approved slick tyres during free practice and warm up session is unlimited - those tyres do not need to be ones in the serial number follow up form - the use of tyres during free practice or warm up do not qualify as making them used ones for the follow up form. - number of wet weather tyre sets is free Use of mixture of tyres ( slick and wet weather tyres simultaneously ) is prohibited 6) Before the qualifying session the Competitors must provide the scrutineers with the completed tyre follow up form in which the numbers of slick tyres have been CLEARLY marked set by set, which are to be used during qualification and races. 7) The follow up form with official s signature applies only to the race starts. During free practice, warm up and qualification there will be no signatures. No record for the wet weather tyres will be kept. 8) The aim for serial number follow up is to make sure that the used tyres fulfil the requirements for the race distance. 9) The tyre is considered to be used once it has been used for an entire race distance ( minimum 75 % of the race distance ) in a race and the Official has recorded it in the follow up form.

28 It is the Competitor s own responsibility that the tyres marked as used ones fulfil the above mentioned requirement. (Tyres used only during practice sessions do not fulfil this requirement ). 10) As there are no used tyres as prescribed in these regulations, all Competitors / Drivers entered in the series and paid the fee, are authorized to use two sets of new slick tyres for their first Event of the Series ( even if they start participating after the first Event ). For the Competitor entered in the Series who has not taken part in a single start with slick tyres ( because of wet track for instance ), the permission will be carried over to the following Event. However if the Competitor finishes a race with slick tyres, those tyres will become used tyres for the next race, for which the Competitor can use only one set of fresh slick tyres. Competitor taking part in a single Event only is authorized to use one set of slick tyres only per Event. 11) In case of a tyre damage, the damaged slick tyre can be replaced by a tyre from another set recorded to be used during the Event, without sanctions. Competitor taking part in single Event only is allowed to replace the damaged single slick tyre with a tyre which has not been recorded in the follow up form. In case the driver needs a pair of tyres, the penalty will be 10 second addition to his/her race time in next start. Any new slick tyre damaged during the qualification may be replaced by another new one before the race start without sanctions. In case there is need to replace a pair of tyres the sanction will be 10 second addition to driver s race time in first start. A used tyre damaged during the qualification may be replaced by another unmarked used one without sanctions. In case a pair of used tyres is needed for replacement the sanction is 10 second addition to driver s race time in first start. The replacement of a damaged tyre is always pending the scrutineer s approval. Also the serial numbers of replacement tyres must be recorded in the follow up form. 12) Any slick tyre which has been damaged and replaced during the race due to tyre damage must be taken with the car to Parc Fermé and presented to the scrutineer. After this the damaged tyre must be taken to Michelin tyre expert for inspection. All other deflated slick tyres on their wheel rim must be provided to Michelin tyre expert for inspection, in order to find the leaking spot. In case the wheel rim is causing the leak, the wheel will be repaired or the tyre installed on a new rim, the leaking rim does not authorize use of new tyre. 13) During the race a new slick tyre is authorized to be replaced by another new one in case it has not been used for one entire race. In case there is a need to replace a pair of tyres the sanction will be a 10 second addition to the race time of the following race. The serial number of the replacement tyre must be recorded in the follow up form by the scrutineer. 14) In case a new slick tyre has been taken to replace a tyre belonging to used tyres set during a race, the new tyres set can be completed by replacing the tyre used during the race, with another new one for that set. The serial number of the replacement tyre must be recorded in the follow up form by the scrutineer. 15) It is also possible to return the replacement tyre ( new ) to its original set of new slick tyres without obtaining a new tyre. 16) No single tyre failure or borrowing a tyre from another set for replacement do not

29 authorize the use of a pair of fresh tyres without sanctions. 17) After the race the Official will sign at Parc Fermé for those tyres used during the entire race ( 75% ) in the follow up form. The driver must not exit the Parc Fermé area without Official s permission. 18) The follow up form is with the Official from the initial scrutineering on. The forms will be filed by the Serial scrutineer. 19) In all other cases, not regulated by this set of regulations, please contact Challenge Series scrutineer who will make the decision. 20) The tyre follow up record form attached ( Appendix 5 )
