Oetiker Quick Connectors reduce the amount of warranties and returns by providing a quick and reliable installation method with superior quality that the OEM s continue to trust. Oetiker Tube Endform Oetiker Quick Connectors are qualified only when mating with tube endforms per the Oetiker specification. This specification is Oetiker controlled, and available upon request. Oetiker's engineering and quality teams are available to support qualifying tube endform suppliers. Recommended endform tooling and tube suppliers are available. Tube Endform Flare - 39% vs 30% The majority of 39% quick connectors were discontinued after the 2003 model year. Tube Endform Flare - To determine whether the tube endform flare is 30% or 39%, compare the outer diameter of the tube to the outer most diameter of the tube's flare. With a 30% tube endform flare, the tube diameter is increased by a factor of 1.30, measured at the tip of the flare diameter. With a 39% tube flare, the original tube diameter is increased by a factor of 1.39, measured at the tip of the flare diameter. Example: 0.625" x 1.30 = (5/8" 30%) 0.625" x 1.39 = (5/8" 39%) By measuring the tube endform flare and using the OEM reference number, you can accurately identify the endform flare and the original equipment quick connector. NOTE - The quick connector internal body and retainer size are specific to the tube endform flare. A 30% quick connector will not work with a 39% tube flare and vice versa. 12 TECHNICAL INFORMATION Quick and easy tool-free installation To Connect 1. To make the connection, align the tube with connector. 2. While pushing the tube straight into the connector, you will hear and feel the "click" connection. 3. Slide the assurance cap along the tube and snap it onto the connector. TECHNICAL INFORMATION To Disconnect 1. Snap or place the disconnect tool onto the tube with the tabs facing the connector. 2. Slide the disconnect tool down the tube and engage the retainer. Rotate the disconnect tool 5-10 to expand the retainer. 3. With the retainer expanded, pull back on the tube to disconnect. 22 Technical Information 23
