We just have to start from the end, namely part 5 of the Gummesson collection, as everyone now calls it, a grand finale of our 50th-anniversary year with 340 items presented in a separate catalogue as previously. After our visit in Finland one week earlier with viewings in both Helsinki and at the stamp fair in Hämeenlinna we became aware of the excitement, but we could never have dreamed of how it would develop. Never before have we received so many bids on a certain area, especially pleasant was that many of the bidders were new clients. Many Finnish philatelists travelled to Malmö to place their bids perso - nally in the lively auction room. The enthusiasm resulted in a very pleasant mood and confirmed again that our personal auction room is appreciated by our customers. Kiitos! Besides the Finnish section there were some other memorable moments worth mentioning. Once again some spectacular prices were achieved for Icelandic items, for example the newly discovered official cover and the rare 5 aur stamp which both ended in a tough fight between a telephone bidder and the auction room. When it comes to Sweden, the most amazing result must be the record price achieved for the unused 3 Skilling Banco with deformed 3 at right. As always the Brazilian Bull s Eyes were very popular and all were sold to the same bidder by phone. Looking in the rear-view mirror, we are delighted with our good and positive anniversary year which also included the successful MALMEX 2018 exhibition.
