We felt there was a need in the market for armor that allowed wearability, as well as, having the maximum coverage that concealable armor can allow. We chose not to copy existing armor templates, but rather come up with our own new design for maximum coverage and protection. This path allowed us to enhance the NIJ template and design more coverage in areas of concern by officers today! More coverage equals peace of mind for the wearer, which leads to more armor being worn, which translates to more officers surviving...and that s what we re about Survival! Survival Armor employs OAD to enhance our CAD Patterns Survival Armor has chosen to use Officer Aided Design to develop our ballistic pads. We have taken the sizing templates developed for NIJ standards testing, in conjunction with officer input, developed ballistic pads with enhanced coverage. The designs that were acceptable in the past no longer fulfill the needs of today s law enforcement. With officer input, we were able to maximize coverage without sacrificing comfort. And our Stateof-the Art Gerber CAD System and Cutter guarantee a consistent and precise manufacturing process. In today s environment most manufacturers use only Computer Aided Design which takes into consideration shapes and sizes that give maximum material utilization. This enables these manufacturers to maximize profits. While patterns tend to move from company to company, with three or four manufacturers providing the same amount of coverage, Survival Armor has broken the chain. We asked officers where they would like additional coverage. And we listened. Every inch helps. The feedback from officers wearing our new designs tells us we are moving in the right direction.
