1 Five Operational Models of Protective Clothing Model #4 Wildland Clothing Wildland Clothing is Available in Many Forms: There are two ways to purchase Wildland certified clothing product from Morning Pride: 1 The Wildland Dual Certification Option for NFPA 1971 Certified Structural Fire Fighting Gear When this option is specified on Structural NFPA 1971 Protective Clothing for Structural Fire Fighting, the liner and moisture barrier can be removed from the outer shell and the outer shell alone is certified to the NFPA 1977 Wildland PPE requirements. For an upcharge, far less than the price of Wildland gear alone, one garment can serve both functions. This is particularly convenient when responding to calls that are indeterminate in nature or change during deployment. Every firefighter on the scene has Structural turnout gear that is also the perfect sized Wildland gear with reflective trim, rank and FD markings, etc., and which can be quickly re-configured back into Structural gear on the scene for the next call (or if conditions change). 2 The Wildland Quad Certification for NFPA 1951 Technical Rescue and Recovery Garments (which are also NFPA 1999 EMS Certified and NFPA 1992 Liquid Splash HazMat Certified). When this option is specified on NFPA 1951 Technical Rescue and Recovery protective clothing, the moisture barrier can be removed from the outer shell and the outer shell alone is certified to the NFPA 1977 Wildland PPE requirements. For an upcharge far less than the price of wildland gear alone, one garment can serve both functions. This is particularly convenient when responding to calls that are indeterminate in nature or change during deployment. Every responder on the scene has Technical Rescue and Recovery gear that is also the perfect sized Wildland gear with reflective trim, rank and FD markings, etc. and which can be quickly re-configured back into Technical Rescue and Recovery gear on the scene for the next call (or if conditions change). The inner liners on both these Morning Pride systems easily snap in and out. 33

There are extra charges for other than standard Looped Hand Hold system. For Both Technical Rescue and Recovery, and EMS Models Both models also feature two layer (Shell/Liner) common sense design. This allows the shell to take the punishment of daily use but protects the pathogen/moisture barrier unlike single layer tri-laminate designs. Tears in our shell do not compromise integrity of bloodborne protection and can be repaired locally. The two layer system has been widely preferred in the field and allows onsite customization (patches, rank upgrades, etc.). Both models feature a zipper and hook and loop closure to allow tailored, integrated collar design. Both models feature a liner inspection port opening at the Tail and a means of liner inspection at the pants fly (and a sewn-in moisture barrier). Both garments are a standard two layer product outer shell and moisture barrier (no thermal liner). Fleece vested liners are available but can only be attached via a zipper. Non-zipper alternative attachment methods can abuse the moisture barrier during the grueling, EMS NFPA cycle wash preconditioning (both models meet the EMS standard). Many first responders will utilize sweaters, heavy slacks, thermal underwear, etc., rather than winter liners, so we did not standardize the expense of a half zipper for winter liner attachment on these two models. If you want a winter liner in the future but are not ordering one when you order your new garment, we strongly suggest you order a zipper winter liner adaption strip in your new garment (to allow easy zip in of a potential future liner, as it is VERY expensive to add a zipper later after the coat is made). If you order a winter liner when ordering the new garment, the zipper to accommodate the winter liner s use will of course be provided (and is included in the winter liner in a new coat pricing). Please see page 94 for further winter liner details. Removable Moisture Barrier Option now available: Outer shell only products can be worn as a standalone, but meets no NFPA standard unless you specify Wildland certification option for Technical Rescue and Recovery garments only (not EMS). We recommend that shells alone be worn for non-tactical purposes only. We also remind customers that our Structural gear can be custom optioned to be Wildland certified. Technical Rescue and Recovery/EMS gear fully configured must provide 450 W/m 2 of breathability, while Structural gear must only provide Technical Rescue and Recovery garments with removable moisture barriers will meet NFPA 1977 Wildland requirements if Wildland quad certification is ordered (but NOT if only Removable Moisture Barrier custom option is ordered). 130 W/m 2 of breathability. It may make more sense to rely on dual certified Structural gear for Wildland, since Wildland calls may be falsely reported when structures are involved. The dual certified Wildland/Structural garments would be configurable perfectly in such scenarios, while Technical Rescue and Recovery/EMS dual certified to Wildland would not offer the ability to convert to Structural protection levels. When the Technical Rescue and Recovery/EMS Removable Moisture Barrier custom option is ordered, the hook and loop moisture barrier to shell attachment is used (as opposed to the standard sewn-in moisture barrier).
