5 LABORATORIES AND SCIENTIFIC FACILITIES Tangaroa has many scientific laboratories and facilities, including chemical lab, radio isotope lab, temperature controlled lab, hydrology dry lab, hydrology wet lab, plankton lab, CTD-control room, dark room, electronics lab and computer rooms, various containerised laboratories, Antarctic survival container. Some laboratories are provided with fume cupboards, air ventilation, fresh and seawater, scientific (filtered) seawater, 220 V 50 Hz UPS, 230 V 60 Hz power (single and three phase). Cold storage facilities include large scientific freezer (<-28 o C, 20m3), UltraFreezer (-60 to -83 o C, 237l) and fridge (+4 o C, 1000l).
