WEATHERHOOD (Model WHP) Weatherhoods protect fan and wall opening from rain and snow. Constructed of heavy gauge galvanized steel and includes a galvanized wire guard. Mounting flanges have pre-punched mounting holes. Weatherhoods are shipped knocked down for field assembly. SAFETY GUARD (Models GD and GS) Protective guard for Wall Box and Slant Wall Housing. Completely encloses the motor and drive side of the fan. Constructed of heavy gauge welded galvanized wire. Use motorized damper for supply (reverse) installations. DAMPER (Model WAG or WAGC) Constructed of rigid galvanized steel frame with double tie rods on the blades. Blades are industrial grade aluminum reinforced with steel rods. Nylon bearings are used to resist corrosion and prevent damper sticking making for quiet operation. HEAVY DUTY DAMPERS (Model WAGH or WAGCH) Heavy duty dampers are recommended when the air velocity exceeds 1500 fpm and up to 2500 fpm. Heavy duty dampers are similar in construction to standard duty dampers except each blade has a formed reinforcement member providing extra strength and rigidity. CENTER PIVOT DAMPER (Model WAGC or WAGCH) When a supply type fan is used, a motorized center pivot type damper, model WAGC-MT or WAGCH-MT should be substituted for the WAG or WAGH. For 2 HP units and larger, it is recommended that a time delay switch be utilized. Dampers are available as Automatic, Motorized or Manual operated. Automatic dampers open with the airflow of the fan and are spring closed. Motorized dampers use a stall type motor and are spring closed. For motorized damper add MT to damper model numbers. 14 OPTIONAL COATINGS Aluminum and galvanized components remain unpainted as a standard finish, but when required are processed through the finishing system to apply decorative or special coatings. A high turbulence oven is used to produce a baked on finish for most special coatings. Decorative coatings are not baked on. Decorative Coating Acme offers 16 popular colors for decorative finishes utilizing an industrial grade enamel applied to the exterior of the fan. Special colors are available upon request. See your Acme Representative for complete color selections. Special Coatings Products receiving special coatings have components painted before assembly. Fasteners are not painted. Acrylic Epoxy This product provides a more durable surface. Heresite (Air Dry) A phenolic coating with greater resistance to most organic and inorganic acids. The acrylic epoxy finished fan housing shall be constructed of a heavy duty steel structural frame and streamlined steel orifice for increased efficiency. (All steel DC propellers shall have an acrylic epoxy finish.) Pre-lubricated ball bearings shall be used in the duplex split pillow block housing for accurate alignment and are rated at an L-50 life of hours (except size 72). Bearings shall be resilient mounted in neoprene rings providing protection and vibration isolation. Drives shall be cast iron pulleys with static conducting oil and heat resistant belts and shall be designed for a 1.5 service factor. A gray acrylic epoxy shall be the standard finish. All parts to be painted will be iron phosphate processed for superior rust resistance. All fans shall bear the AMCA Certified Ratings Seal for Sound and Air performance. If these products are used in a life support ventilation system where failure could result in loss or injury, the Purchaser and End User should provide adequate back-up ventilation, supplemen tary natural ventilation or failure alarm system, or ac knowiedge willingness to accept the risk of such loss or injury. WARNING DO NOT use in HAZARDOUS ENVI RONMENTS where fan s electrical system could provide ignition to combustible or flammable materi als unless unit is specifically built for hazardous envi ronments. Comply with all local and national safety codes including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Act (NFPA). Guards must be installed when fan is within reach of person nel or within eight (8) feet (2.5 m) of working level or when deemed advisable for safety.
