1 Volume 45 Issue 2 February 2019 What a great tour just completed! If you missed it, you really missed a very easy and wonderful private collection of automobiles and historic memorabilia. While this collection is located in our area, it was Mike Lawrence who made contact with the owner (Don Redding) and set up our visit. We met for breakfast as is required by all club tours(?) A short drive and a very exciting and interesting tour. Last month I ventured out into the world of automobile buying. For reasons beyond proper explanation, I decided to buy some off brand - something different. I hit the internet and after awhile I came upon a couple of cars that attracted my interest. One was the Mazda RX 9. What a beautiful automobile. It made the Batmobile look like a station wagon in comparison. It was slick and just beautiful. It is shown on any Mazda TV commercials and it makes everything beautiful. What a great automobile but it really never showed a price. Also all demonstration utilized a right hand drive vehicle. Know why? The car is a prototype model made in Japan (right hand drive country) and finally announced that it may be manufactured in 2020? It was a secret. So I ventured out and saw another car that just maybe the one the Genesis 70. By all advertisement it would sell for about $50,000 and be an exceptional car. It is made by Hyundai. I contacted the Geneses headquarters in New Jersey. They provided a ton of information and on their interested screen I entered my zip code and asked for a local dealer within 25 miles. They provide two but both were in New Jersey? I called my local Hyundai dealer and he was unset that I did not know it was not sold in California. I apologized and decided I needed another automobile We have got some plans for this year. We are going to the Newhall Canyon Theater this month and may be time later in the year. We had a dining experience mid-year and received so many compliments that we decided to make it good habit and do it again some time mid-year. We are lining up several good tours to the surrounding country and we will be ready for the fine weather to come. 3 We just had one of best car tours of recent time. There is a wealth of great automobile collections in our own backyard. Mama s Table The first part of any plan is to gather, meet and eat. So we met at Mama s Table and indulged in a great breakfast. The plan was to eat and then discuss our tour. It was a successful endeavor as food was served. Our trip to Don Reeding s Automotive collection was a short trip of just a few miles. We all made it! Don Reeding property was laid out like an old western town. That s Clint Eastwood with his buddies Smith& Wesson. A working telephone booth with a dial phone? 3

The vehicle above (I believe) is a 1934 Pontiac. It was an honor to see such perfection in a restored car. 4 The Don Reeding automotive collection is located in our backyard. It is amazing we have not visited this site in the past. It was one of our best visits and tour. A special thanks goes to Mike Lawrence who did the work and contacts to make this tour possible.

This is a heart-warming comedy about the bond of friendship between silx Southern women and their time spent at their home away from home the beauty shop. An enjoyable play. We ask you to purchase your own seat tickets and after the presentation we will gather and go down the block to the el trouadero for a fine dinner. An easy and enjoyable evening with friends. Informal Car Meet On every Saturday morning from 6:30 am to 8:30 am, there is an open house car meeting held adjacent the K-Mart (Valencia Blvd at Bouquet Cyn). It just a place to meet and to view others automobiles. Just meet and discuss the love of all cars. It s called Coffee N Cars and it is located in front of the Wester Bagel Shop. No trophies and no entrée fee 5
