In the mid 80 s Takata began to acquire several smaller organizations here into the United States in order to gain access to our automotive markets. Takata targeted manufacturing companies such as Irvin Automotive, Vector Research, and Petrie System due to the nature of their business and through this acquisition was able to gain a quick foothold in the US markets. Mergers and acquisitions provide a quick mean for organization to expand into other markets, capture market shares, and increase profits. By acquiring organizations Takata was able to take over established companies that have essential manpower, equipment, customer relationships, and knowledge. These fundamental requirements are what every organization needs in order to provide their customers with the products and services they require. Although most mergers and acquisitions fail according to the presentation, if handled properly can provide great success for the participating organizations. Takata has been engineering the precision of our products to the millisecond for over 70 years. We have been driven by our dedication to save human life while embracing a pioneering spirit in developing innovative products.
