4 Background Market surveillance a national competence In accordance with the subsidiarity principle, Member States are responsible for market surveillance activities on their own territory. All market surveillance activities are carried out by national Market Surveillance Authorities (MSAs). Great discrepancies exist across the EU among the different MSAs. 5 Goals Improve market surveillance implementation in the European market place Product manufacturers and contractors should be closely involved in market surveillance activities The information exchange between MSA`s and economic operators should be improved Use of modern electronic tools, e.g. e-labeling or QR codes integrated to the products (Condensing Units) Create an automatic connection between QR code and ASERCOM website to check whether Condensing Units listed are certified or not ASERCOM Annual Convention Brussels, 14th January 2016, Wolfgang Zaremski 5

12 Compressor Information Name of Manufacturer, compressor model, displacement, voltage. A readable picture of the nameplate will be a good way to provide such information. 13 Fan Information Name of Manufacturer, Fan Model, speed, voltage, consumption. A readable picture of the nameplate will be a good way to provide such information.
