Within this range you find compressors for industrial use, professional use and for the DIY sector. With over 50 years of experience in the compressed air industry it was time for us to develop a synergy in our compressor range in our whole group. WE KNOW COMPRESSORS Under the name AERFAST/MEC-AIR we offer a strong new compressor program which will be presented in our new compressor catalogue, which will be a good guide for customers to find the right compressor that matches their exact needs. At the same time the catalogue should be a support for both our reps and our customers not only to increase their knowledge on air pressure systems, but also to avoid difficulties. RIGHT COMPRESSOR FOR YOUR NEEDS Choose your compressor based on the application for which you need it; the required pressure and airflow will determine your choice. Always overcalculate a bit the capacity for your compressor, just to be safe and avoid problems. We advise you to first answer the following questions before making your compressor selection: How big are the needs for air? What kind of working pressure is required? What kind of air quality is required? Where will the compressor be set up? Is there enough electricity in the room? When the above questions have been answered, please check the following needs: How intense will you be working with the compressor? What is the length of the electric cord you need? 7 COMPRESSORS FOR CONSTRUCTION AND INDUSTRIAL USE Our compressors are constructed to be practical & useful, to be able to handle intensive use and to fulfil the high demands of their users. They exist in many different versions from lightweight easy to carry to heavyweight for Industrial use. Piston compressors The models we offer are all piston compressors, also called reciprocating compressors, manufactured in different versions; direct or belt-driven, oilless or lubricated, with one or two pistons. When a piston compressor is used it generates compression to make air pressure. During this process heat is developed and that is why all our piston compressors have a built-in cooling system. The direct as well as the belt-driven piston compressors have a cooling down phase between the steps (piston going up and down) and of course thanks to this cooling down their efficiency increases; 50% on direct driven models and +/- 70% on belt driven models. Air pressure The air is compressed to a certain maximum pressure that is approximately 8 to bar. Higher pressure can be maintained with other compressors. The pressure can be adjusted depending on the pressure you need for your application and is controlled through a regulator. Mostly you will find information on the air tool on the operating pressure to use. Example: Air blowing gun: 4 to 6 bar Pneumatic brad nail gun: 4 to 6 bar Pneumatic framing gun : 6 to 8 bar Air flow To get the best effect with your compressor you must figure out what air flow you need, taking into account the type, the dimensions and the length of the hose you will use, as they have an important impact. As guideline we advise you to use for smaller air tools a hose with diameter 6 mm and for larger tools a hose with at least a diameter of mm. Example: A framing nail gun needs at least ø mm to be able to have a good working result.
