One Year Warranty Program: Steel Dragon Tools warrants to the original purchaser, which may include such brand names Steel Dragon Tools to be free of manufacturing defects in material and workmanship for a period of 1 YEAR from the date of purchase by such user. The company you purchased this item from will decide at its option, either repair or replace, free of charge; any product found to be defective upon company inspection. General Information: The Steel Dragon Tools PML Lifting Magnets posses a strong magnetic path produced by Nd-Fe-B magnetic materials. The ON and OFF magnetic force is controlled manually. A power source is not required for use, therefore these magnets can be used virtually anywhere. The magnets are mainly used for connecting objects during lifting and handling operations. They can elevate moving iron block, cylindrical and other magnetic material. The magnets are best used for loading, unloading and moving. Ideal usage includes handling steel plates, die castings, forgings, etc. They help eliminate the need for using a clamping tool & chains during lifting and handling operations. The lifting magnets were designed and structured for easy operation and safety in handling. Lifting magnets are widely used as hoisting devices in factories, docks, warehouses, and transportation industries. 3 Features: No electrical source needed High energy magnetic materials ensures compact, lightweight and durable design Locking handle enables safe, quick and easy operation Creates a quick and efficient handling process for work pieces Large shackle top fitting for easy attachment V slot on lifting face for lifting round and flat objects Guides for varying shaped work pieces, lifting conditions, air gap and steel thickness Safety Guidelines: Lifting magnet surface and area of object being lifted should be clean of all debris Avoid carrying load over people Do not stand on top of lifted work piece Do not allow the load or magnet to come into contact with other structures during process Avoid uneven lifts Do not hook two lifting magnets together without the use of a properly designed spreader beam Safety Factors: The published lifting capacities represent ultimate lift strength - the lifting capacity of the magnet of different loads based on ideal conditions. This manual is not intended to address all the varying conditions of operation of the lifting magnet. It is the job of the operator to determine the lifting strength and to make sure that all safety factors are applied to the current situation in which the magnet is being used. The following are some of the operating conditions that dictate the applicable safety. 1. Surface condition of the load 2. Surface condition of the magnet 3. Smoothness of the lift 4. Flatness and stiffness of load 5. Centering of the load on the magnet 6. Specific environment Operation: 1. Clean lifting magnet surface as well as the surface of the object being lifted before use 2. Carefully place lifting magnet on the load without any impact. Centerline the lifting magnet to overlap with weight centerline of the steel load 3. Press the button on the handle to turn it from the OFF to ON position until the safety key on the handle passes the lock pin on the magnet. 4. Slowly hoist and carry your load to destination 5. After arriving at your destination, press the button on the handle once again to move it from the ON position to OFF position to release your load. 3

Protect magnet surface from rusting with oil after use. 4. Store magnet in an area free of metal chips, grit and moisture 5. Inspect mechanical condition of the lifting magnet before each use. Surface must be clean and free of damages 6. Inspect handle to make sure the safety key moves properly without an restraints or complications 7. Annual calibration of lifting magnets is highly recommended Curve Capabilities The lift value of the magnet is affected and reduced by several factors 1. Thickness: The lift mild steel plate (refer to chart on the following page) 2. Air Gap: Anything that would prevent the magnet surface from making full contact with the object being lifted, is considered an air gap Examples include rust, dirt, ice, snow or holes. 3. Carbon Composition: When there is a lift of high Carbon steel, the lift value will be approximately 30% less. If your lifting cast iron, lift value is reduced to 50% less. 4.
