1 Preparation works for Junior Great North Run changes in week prior to the main event Monday 4 to Friday 8 September (Friday Only) Buses will be unable to serve South Shore Road between Mill Road and Hillgate and Service Q1 will operate normally from Gateshead Interchange via Prince Consort Road, Askew Road, then Hawkes Road, Mill Road (for Baltic), then South Shore Road, Deptford Road, Saltmeadows Road, Hawkes Road, Oakwellgate, The Sage then normal route to Central Station. From Central Station, Service Q2 will operate normal route to Swing Bridge then via The Sage, Hawkes Road, Mill Road (for Baltic), South Shore Road, Deptford Road, Saltmeadows Road, Hawkes Road, Gateshead High Street and Gateshead Interchange. Will be unable to serve Newcastle Quayside bus link and will operate as per the Sunday morning market diversion, observing the stop at The Law Courts. Junior Great North Run changes for Saturday 9 September X66 Buses will be unable to serve South Shore Road, Hillgate, Bridge Street, Swing Bridge, Sandhill, The Side, Dean Street or Grey Street and Service Q1 will operate from Gateshead Interchange via Prince Consort Road, Askew Road, Oakwellgate, The Sage, Oakwellgate, Hawkes Road, Mill Road (for Baltic), then South Shore Road, Deptford Road, Saltmeadows Road, Hawkes Road, Oakwellgate, Tyne Bridge, Tyne Bridge slip-road (serve Cuthbert House stop), Swan House roundabout, Pilgrim Street, Market Street West (serve old Quaylink Stop) and Grainger Street to Central Station. From Central Station, Service Q2 will operate via normal route to Market Street West, then Pilgrim Street, Swan House roundabout, Tyne Bridge, Oakwellgate, The Sage, Oakwellgate, Askew Road and Prince Consort Road to Gateshead Interchange etc. Will be unable to serve Newcastle Quayside, Guildhall, The Side, Dean Street or Grey Street and will operate from Wallsend and St. Peters Basin, Spillers Mill, St Lawrence Road, Walker Road, Glasshouse Bridge, City Road, St Anne s Street, Sandgate, City Road, Swan House roundabout, Pilgrim Street, Market Street East (serving stop opposite Police Station) then normal route to Haymarket and Great Park. Towards St Peters and Wallsend, will operate via Market Street West, Pilgrim Street, Swan House roundabout, City Road, Melbourne Street, Pandon Bank, City Road, Sandgate, St. Anne s Street and City Road, then normal route to St. Peter s Basin. Will not serve Centrelink towards MetroCentre and will divert via Askew Road. Gateshead bound journeys are unaffected.

2 Great North Run changes for Sunday 10 September , 1A Until approximately 17:00, buses from Gateshead to Newcastle and Whitley Bay will run between Gateshead Interchange and Market Street, Newcastle via Prince Consort Road, Askew Road, Redheugh Bridge, Clayton Street West, Westgate Road and Grainger Street to join normal route at Market Street West. Buses from Newcastle towards Gateshead will follow normal route from Pilgrim Street via Market Street, Grainger Street, Bigg Market, St Nicholas Street and High Level Bridge. After 17:00, buses will resume their normal route in Newcastle. 4 Until approximately 17:00, this service will run between Lingey Lane and Heworth Metro via Meresyde, Colegate, Colegate West and High Heworth Lane. 5 The early morning journey departing Fellgate Estate will operate normally, but journeys departing Jarrow Bus Station between 10:16 and 15:16 will terminate at Boldon ASDA. From the 16:16 departure from Jarrow, the service will return to normal and regain operation to South Shields. 9 Will operate normal route. 20 Between approximately 09:30 and 17:00, these services will run between Durham, Sunderland and Harton Nook (Park Avenue) only. Normal service to or from South Shields will resume after 17: Until approximately 17:00, buses from Durham and Chester-le-Street to Newcastle will run between Gateshead Interchange and Eldon Square via Prince Consort Road, Askew Road, Redheugh Bridge, St. James Boulevard, Gallowgate and Percy Street. Buses from Newcastle towards Gateshead, Chester le Street and Durham will follow normal route via High Level Bridge. 27 This service will run to an amended timetable, with journeys due to arrive or leave Heworth Metro between 08:30 and 17:00 being split into two sections, with buses running from Newcastle (Carling Academy) to Heworth Metro and from Heworth Lane (The Maiden Over) every 20 minutes to South Shields. Passengers will be able to transfer between buses by using the pedestrian subway between Heworth Metro and Shields Road/Heworth Lane. The normal service between Newcastle and South Shields will resume after 17: Until approximately 17:00, buses from Chester-le-Street to Newcastle will run between Gateshead Interchange and Prince Consort Road, Askew Road, Redheugh Bridge and St. James Boulevard to Newcastle, Westgate Road (Carling Academy). Buses from Newcastle will run from Westgate Road (Carling Academy), Collingwood Street, St. Nicholas Street and High Level Bridge, then normal route from Gateshead Interchange. After 17:00, buses will resume their normal route in Newcastle, serving New Bridge Street. 2

3 35A 50A This service will run to the normal route and timetable between Sunderland and Boldon ASDA; from 0830 until 1700 between Boldon ASDA and Heworth buses will run via Testo s Roundabout, White Mare Pool roundabout, A194, New Road, Follingsby roundabout, Lingey Lane, Meresyde, Colegate, Colegate West and High Heworth Lane. Until approximately 17:00, buses will run between Durham, Chester le Street and Galsworthy Road/Whiteleas Way roundabout only. The normal service to or from South Shields will resume after 17: Until approximately 17:00, buses will run between Newcastle and Gateshead via Clayton Street, Westgate Road, Collingwood Street, St. Nicholas Street and High Level Bridge to Gateshead Interchange, then normal route to Newcastle Clayton Street West. After 17:00, buses will return to normal route in Newcastle and Gateshead. 54 Until approximately 17:00, buses will run between Gateshead Redheugh Bridge and Clayton Street West to Westgate Road, then via Neville Street (Central Station), Redheugh Bridge and normal route. After 17:00, buses will resume their normal route in Newcastle. 56 Until approximately 17:00, buses will run between Gateshead Interchange and Newcastle via Gateshead Interchange and Newcastle via Prince Consort Road, Askew Road, Redheugh Bridge and St. James Boulevard to Westmorland Road, Neville Street, Clayton Street West to Westgate Road (Carling Academy). Buses from Newcastle will run via Westgate Road (Carling Academy), Collingwood Street, St. Nicholas Street and High Level Bridge, then normal route from Gateshead Interchange. After 17:00, buses will resume their normal route in Newcastle, serving New Bridge Street. 57 Until approximately 17:00, buses from Heworth and Gateshead to Newcastle and Hadrian Park will run between Gateshead Interchange and Pilgrim Street via Prince Consort Road, Askew Road, Redheugh Bridge, Clayton Street West, Westgate Road, Grainger Street and Market Street West, then Pilgrim Street and normal route. Buses from Hadrian Park and Newcastle to Gateshead and Heworth will follow normal route through Newcastle via High Level Bridge. 58 Until approximately 17:00, buses will run between Gateshead Redheugh Bridge and St. James Boulevard to Newcastle Westgate Road (Carling Academy). Buses from Newcastle will run from Westgate Road (Carling Academy), Collingwood Street, St. Nicholas Street and High Level Bridge, then normal route from Gateshead Interchange to Heworth. After 17:00, buses will resume their normal route. 3

4 84 Will operate normal route in both directions. 88/88A Until approximately 16:00, this service will run between Green Lane and Jarrow Morrisons via Wenlock Road, A194 Newcastle Road, A185 Jarrow Road, Swinburne Street, Straker Street and Howard Street. The section of route between Dame Flora Robson Avenue, Scotch Estates, Leam Lane, Primrose Terrace, Valley View and Bede Burn Road/York Avenue will not operate. After 16:00, the normal route will resume. 93/94 Until approximately 15:00, Service 93 will operate from Gateshead Interchange direct to Heworth Interchange via Sunderland Road observing all stops, then normal route towards Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Gateshead. Service 94 will operate the reverse of the above until approximately 15: Until approximately 17:00, buses will run between Gateshead Redheugh Bridge and Clayton Street West to Westgate Road. Buses from Newcastle will run via Collingwood Street, St. Nicholas Street and High Level Bridge to Gateshead Interchange, then follow their usual route. After 17:00, buses will resume normal route and serve Market Street West in Newcastle. Until approximately 17:00, buses will be unable to serve Dean Street, The Side, Quayside, Swing Bridge, The Sage or Baltic from first bus until at least 17:00. From Gateshead Interchange, Service Q1 will operate via Prince Consort Road, Askew Road, Redheugh Bridge, Clayton Street West to Neville Street (use stand ahead of normal), then Q2 will depart via Neville Street, Westgate Road, Collingwood Street, St. Nicholas Street, High Level Bridge, Wellington Street, West Street, Prince Consort Road and Gateshead Interchange to normal route. After 17:00, buses will revert follow their usual route to Gateshead Interchange. Unaffected will operate normal Sunday Market diversion route omitting bus link and observing Law Courts bus stop. X1 Until approximately 17:00, buses from Easington Lane and Washington to Newcastle will run between Gateshead Interchange and Eldon Square Bus Station via Prince Consort Road, Askew Road, Redheugh Bridge, St. James Boulevard, Gallowgate and Percy Street. Buses from Eldon Square Bus Station to Washington and Easington Lane will run via Percy Street, Gallowgate, St. James Boulevard, Westgate Road, Collingwood Street, St. Nicholas Street and the High Level Bridge to Gateshead Interchange then normal route. After 17:00, buses will follow their usual route towards Newcastle. 4

5 X10 Until approximately 17:00, buses will run from Newcastle Eldon Square to Pool Bridge Roundabout via Percy Street, Newgate Street, Bigg Market, High Level Bridge, Prince Consort Road, Gateshead Interchange, High West Street, Sunderland Road, Heworth Metro, High Heworth Lane, High Lanes, Grange Road, Grange Crescent, Meresyde, Lingey Lane and the A194. Buses to Newcastle will run via Pool Bridge Roundabout, the A194, Lingey Lane, Meresyde, Grange Crescent, Grange Road, High Lanes, High Heworth Lane, Heworth Metro, Sunderland Road, High West Street, Gateshead Interchange, Prince Consort Road, Askew Road, Redheugh Bridge, St. James Boulevard, Gallowgate, Percy Street and Eldon Square Bus Station. X71 After 17:00, normal service will resume. Until approximately 17:00, buses from Consett to Newcastle will run between Gateshead Interchange and Eldon Square via Prince Consort Road, Askew Road, Redheugh Bridge, St. James Boulevard, Gallowgate and Percy Street. Buses from Newcastle towards Gateshead and Consett will follow normal route via High Level Bridge. After 17:00, buses will follow their usual route into Newcastle.
