2 The RTD FasTracks Plan 122 miles of new light rail and commuter rail 18 miles of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service 31 new Park-n-Rides; more than 21,000 new parking spaces Enhanced Bus Network & Transit Hubs (FastConnects) Redevelopment of Denver Union Station 57 new rail and/or BRT stations 3 Opportunities for Transit Oriented Communities FasTracks Status West Rail Line (W Line) First FasTracks line to open April 2013 Denver Union Station Bus Concourse opened May 9, service began May 11 East/Gold/Northwest Rail Lines (EAGLE) 60% complete U.S. 36 BRT Phase 1 of managed lanes 74% complete, Phase % North Metro Line Design underway, early work to begin in fall Southeast Rail Extension Advanced basic engineering complete Aurora Line/I-225 Rail 31% in construction progress; 93% in design 4 progress 4 2

4 RTD Security RTD transports 300,000+ people while driving 150,000 miles each weekday Safety and security is number one priority RTD works with police in 40 municipalities RTD has 7,000+ cameras on light rail trains, platforms, Park-n- Rides, buses, etc. RTD s Security Command Center staffed 24/7; monitors video, emergency phones, Transit Watch calls and texts RTD has 6 internal police; 265 contracted police from Lakewood, Aurora, Denver; 100 armed uniformed Allied Barton security officers, 12 which patrol the W-Line on bike 24/7 RTD urges patrons to be vigilant. 15 Commuter Rail Vehicle All 50 car bodies from the base order are in Hyundai Rotem s assembly facility in Philadelphia Six option cars to arrive by August; 10 additional cars due in 2015 Pilot cars completed and undergoing final factory testing FRA conducted a Sample Car Inspection April 30/May 1 FTA conducted review audit of the Hyundai Rotem facility First cars in Denver in September, then at a rate of four per month 29 Commuter Rail Vehicle RTD livery on vehicles 30 15
