J2953/2 V2 Interoperability Plan and Report 10. J2953/3 V1 Interoperability Test Cases 9

Summary of active documents in 7 categories: 1. New document J Instructions for PEV Communications, Interoperability and Security Documents 1 st cut of the document is posted with meetings soon. The intent is to summarize Bubble & Venn diagrams, then instructions, history and future plans for the documents based on functional objective (e.g. (1) if I want to do V2G with an offboard inverter, what documents and items within them do I need, (2) What do we intend for V3 of J2953, etc ) 2. Diagnostics - J2836/4 Use Cases Completed clean-up and posted, determining if other items can be included (diagnostics), then start the ballot cycle. This includes the analogue diagnostics for the Control Pilot & Prox for opens, shorts low and high at various points. Plan to re-open later for additional charging requirements (AC, DC, WPT ) 3. Customer to PEV J2836/5 Use Cases, U10 for payment is posted & 1 st meeting to be scheduled soon. Next steps are messages/protocol documents 4. DC Charging (J2847/2 - V4) Continuing to outlining variations to messages/signals/enumerations between SAE and ISO ED 2. Working with ANL & JRC to determine when the Golden Test Device will be available and how it will be used to validate Test Cases. 10

Categories (cont) 5. PEV as a Distributed Energy Resource (DER) - Hank McGlynn is lead J2836/3 - V2 - Use Cases for the PEV Communicating as a Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Topic to task force is complete and in Hybrid committee ballot. J2847/2 updates are next (for off-board inverters). J3072 published and still working authority and testing items. UL 9741 V1 is published and plans to include PEV on-board inverter effects. 6. Security Gorden Lum is lead J2931/7 V1 Security details - Continuing monthly meetings and reviewing other security documents for reference. 7. Interop Ted Bohn is lead J2953/1 V2 - Interoperability requirements J2953/2 V2 Interoperability Plan and Report J2953/3 V1 Test Cases (DC charging is 1 st, potentially AC Test Cases) Meetings to review Test Cases, both AC and DC and any potential changes to J1772, V7. Golden Test Device (GTD) expected to be released end of 2016 for validation of test cases, then inclusion in J2953/3. Test Event #5 in Korea in November 10 th & 11 th along with ISO meetings Nov 9 th. 11

Communication and Energy Transfer Combinations Disclaimers: 1. No claim is made on issues, problems, preferences, etc. with any combinations. 2. Only comments are included. 3. The intent is to summarize all expected systems (in the home) that is also intended for public locations with Energy Management System to grid. 4. No claim is made that this is complete. 12

AC Charging 10/11/

AC Charging DR control of EVSE (SEP1.x or SEP2 DR signal) Comments: No indicator of when the PEV connects? No info on what power level does the PEV need? No info on how long is the power needed? No acknowledgement (feedback) of DR accepted or rejected (customer opt out) by the vehicle. Not clear on the DR signal frequency/latency. EMS Signal needs to adjust power flow every minute to maybe three minutes (not a 15 minute interval) 10/11/

AC Charging (SEP1.x vs SEP2) 10/11/

AC Charging w/ ISO (PEV to EVSE) 10/11/

AC Charging ISO High Level Communication (HLC) NAFTA vs. EMEA vs. SEP2 Comments: SEP1.x is communication between the Smart Meter and ESI Time of Use Price (TOU months ahead), Critical Peak Price (CPP - day ahead) or Real Time Price (RTP minutes ahead) plus Demand Response (DR) SEP2 is communication between PEV and Utility. SEP2 PLC on Control Pilot (between PEV and EVSE), then SEP2 PLC or Wi-Fi or ZigBee to ESI Requires bridge at EVSE to ESI or Utility Same as SEP1.x price and DR, adds FlowReservation (request power level, energy amount required and both initial & actual Time Charge is Needed (TCIN) for charge session, dynamically adjusts to actual values, with acknowledgement to utility) is communication between PEV and EVSE. PowerLine Carrier (PLC) on Control Pilot Requires gateway (not bridge) at EVSE for Utility or home interface to other protocols. 10/11/

FlowReservation (FR) - Initial TCIN 10/11/

FR - Actual optimized charging (still has high peak load in home) 10/11/

SEP2 Offers FR dynamic load control 10/11/

Step 1 Step 2 FR Optimized Charging process Customer interface Initial Time Charge is Needed (TCIN) & end SoC desired (if not 100%) Customer interface OBCM (Show Fastest, Cheapest and Optimized choices) select value or use presets Vehicle info Utility info Price & DRLC Current SoC, charger efficiency, 12V (hotel) loads, etc. OBCM Step 3 10/11/2016 Customer interface (Select Fastest, Cheapest or Optimized) each session or implement presets OBCM Vehicle (Implements) Utility info FlowReservation Energy, power, actual TCIN plus acknowledgment 21

Other options (optimized charging) RTP program where both positive and negative priced are available Negative prices (utility pays for a source to use excess energy) can be used for vehicle charging Clean energy can be identified so PEV can charge when this is available 22

What else? DC Charging (in the home) 10/11/

Xtreme Fast Charge (XFC) effects in the home BEVs may be charged similar to IC vehicle refueling (once a week instead of every opportunity ). 7 kw/vehicle may be once a week instead of daily Steady 7 kw for hrs duration (50 kwh for 150 miles) once a week instead of 2 hrs daily (10 kwh for 30 miles) Two BEVs = 14 kw for 12 hours! 24

AC DER (on-board inverter) 10/11/

DC DER (DC Discharging) 10/11/

Telematics Indirect communications (macro Charging control save XX MW) OpenADR2 for DR signal to OEM Central Server using Hot Spot Prediction 10/11/

Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) (additional items) 1. Wireless communication (instead of PLC) a) IEEE n (static WPT, p for dynamic) 2. Additions: a) Alignment Service Discovery occurs during this step b) Foreign Object Detection (FOD) c) Living Object Protection (LOP) 3. Customer HMI (items 2a, b & c) 10/11/
