1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION The WS 2 kg M CD, WS 5 kg M CD and WS 7 kg M CD (Clean Design) weigh systems, with their integrated infeed and outfeed belts, form, in conjunctions with a type EWK 3010 or EWK 3015 TS weighing electronics unit, a high-performance checkweigher for weighing or checking the completeness/integrity of boxes, bags, cans, cups, etc. The checkweigher is cleared and approved for legal-for-trade EU prepacked-goods checking applications in all European countries. Conformity-certified as automatic checkweigher in accordance with OIML R51. All drives (infeed, weigh and outfeed belts) are laid out for a uniform speed of transport, depending on the required throughput. The product to be checked arrives via the infeed belt and is transferred from there onto the weigh belt or weigh table. Small-diameter idler rollers ensure smooth transfer. The measuring signal is produced and evaluated as the product travels over the weigh belt or the weigh table. The outfeed belt then forwards the product for potential sorting or rejection. WS 2 kg M CD (partially encased version) with EWK 3010 WS 2 kg M CD (fully encased version) with EWK 3015 TS The weighing electronics unit (see corresponding data sheets) enables classification of the checked product and control of the sorting and/or signaling devices. Various reject and/or sorting mechanisms (blow-out nozzles, pushers) can be installed as required on the outfeed belt of the checkweigher. Depending on the product, it is possible to use separate sorting/ejection conveyors or line dividers. 2 WEIGHER STAND Sturdy base frame with height-adjustable legs and an encased tube frame. The latter carries the weigh cell and the weigh belt / weigh table, the infeed belt and the outfeed belt. The frame height adjusts to the respective working height. A control cabinet housing the weighing electronics unit is also mounted on the base frame. - (Alternative) The fully encased stainless steel version is recommended for maximum hygiene and/or applications requiring extreme cleanliness. WEIGH CELL Monolithic, electromagnetic force-balancing system in a fine-finished aluminum case. TRANSPORT SYSTEM The product to be weighed is conveyed either on a conveyor belt or on round belts (functional expansion). - Infeed, weigh and outfeed belt The conveyor chassis consists of fine-finished aluminum profiles with a quick-tensioning device for rapid belt changes. The tensioning and drive pulleys are made of fine-finished aluminum, Ø 30 mm. - Sliding table (Alternative) For high throughputs of certain products, the weigh belt can be replaced by a sliding table (i.e., the product slides across the weigh table). - Drives The drives for the infeed, weigh and outfeed belts are provided with maintenance-free three-phase a.c. back-geared motors. Power transmission is effected by synchronous belts. "WEIGHER" SCANNING UNIT The scanning unit consists of a reflex light barrier (pulsed, with LED received-signal indicators). CONTROL CABINET The control cabinet, which is accessible from the rear, contains the controls and the frequency converter for the conveyor drives, as well as the terminals for power supply to the electronic cabinet and the frequency converter. The master switch is located on the side of the control cabinet. Separate holders for the scanner unit(s) and the reject mechanism are mounted on the control cabinet. WEIGHING ELECTRONICS UNIT The EWK 3010 and EWK 3015 TS weighing electronics units are available in different scopes of supply (cf. corresponding data sheets). Emergency STOP and ON/OFF switches are mounted on the front of the unit's case. TOUCH GUARD The weigher comes with a polycarbonate touch guard as standard equipment. In place of the normal protective plate, a protective hood made of the same material can be used. For safety reasons, the latter is prescribed for use in "legal-for-trade applications" and if the system is equipped with a "pusher"-type ejector (functional expansion). REJECT AND SORTING MECHANISMS (functional expansion) Blow-off devices (puff-aways) or pushers can be mounted on the outfeed belt to serve as ejectors. Ejection mechanisms in the form of blow-out nozzles, pushers, ejecting arms and switches (tilting conveyor) and sorting mechanisms in the form of sorting diverters and line dividers are available for installation on existing local downstream handling equipment.
