12 SUN SYSTEM REFLECTORS What goes in to making a Sun System brand lighting fixture? Sunlight Supply, Inc. is the industry s only vertically integrated manufacturer. Design Our expertise in C.A.D. design, machine capability and tooling requirements make for prompt product design and development. Sophisticated photometric software ensures proper light dispersal. Punching CNC Trumpf computer numerically controlled (CNC) punch presses are used to process steel and aluminum sheet metal for our reflectors and housings. Part Bending (braking/forming) 6 Trumpf CNC press brakes are used to bend and form flat sheet metal. Exact tolerances of these new machines ensures bend tolerances to within 1/10 of 1% on every angle. Riveting and Pemming Automatic feed riveting machines securely attach metal parts together. The Auto-Sert machine inserts Pem Bolts and Pem Nuts on various fixtures. 24 SUNLIGHT SYSTEM DIFFERENCE Powder Coating All of our reflectors and ballast housings have a powdercoat finish. The electrostatic process applies the powder, usually white, black, blue or green, to a part. Powdercoating is far more durable and corrosion resistant than liquid paint. The part is hung from a conveyor line entering a 5 stage wash where heated and chemically treated water cleans the part. The cleaned part is dried and then enters a spray booth where the powder is applied. 8 guns shoot powder from different angles to completely cover the part. Human touch-up is done at the end of the spray booth. The part enters a combination oven which uses infra-red and convection heat to cure the powder onto the part. After, it enters a cool down area prior to handling.

13 ASSEMBLY Strict procedures are adhered to during the assembly of our reflectors, H.I.D. and fluorescent lighting fixtures. UL frequently inspects our facilities to ensure compliance with their high standards. SUN SYSTEM REFLECTORS Testing & QUALITY CONTROL All Sunlight Supply fixtures are tested 4 ways. Every fixture is testfired twice from 2 different people. It must pass a hi-pot test for grounding, electrical leakage and a di-electric test. The overall product is reviewed for fit and finish, labeling, all fasteners are tight, sockets secure, etc. Packaging & SHIPPING A conveyor line moves assembled products from the assembly stations to the packaging area. The quality control area serves as the final product inspection point prior to the items being packaged. After being boxed, the products are palletized and shipped to our distribution centers.
