Solid and safe design CBGS-2 cuicles can neither e affected y moisture or dirt, nor y corrosie or polluted operating enironments, since all high oltage parts are contained inside the SF6 tanks, which are made of stainless steel. The hermetic nature of the stainless steel tanks ensures the protection of the cuicles against external agents such as dirt, dust, insects, rodents, etc. High degree of maintenance and repairaility The operating mechanism of the circuit reaker is accessile from the outside of the stainless steel sealed tank. High degree of partitioning CBGS-2 switchgears hae een designed so that the apparatus is distriuted in clearly distinguished and independent, gas-tight and insulated compartments, in order to aoid the spreading of an eentual failure. Gas exhaustion channel The single usar ersion offers the possiility of an optional gas exhaustion channel, thus increasing personnel safety. Each functional unit contains all the necessary elements to carry out its task. 1 The different switchgears (functional units) are interconnected y means of a usar system, placed inside one of the SF6 tanks. The quality of the earthing of all the metal compartments of the switchgear is ensured y the connection of the earthing ar from each compartment to the earthing collector 2 ar of the switchgear. The switchgear The outer structure of each switchgear is a set of panels (RL 1007 for the front panel coering the circuit reaker operating mechanism and RL 7032 for the rest), metal sheets and frames. In accordance with IEC requirements, all of them are metallic and earthing. 3 It consists of four or fie (single usar, doule usar) independent compartments metallic and earthing. great partitioning is thus achieed in order to aoid damage spreading in case of an eentual failure. The Low Voltage compartment (ox), separated from the Medium Voltage area, is located at the lower part of the switchgear and contains Sepam type relays as an option (for other ersions, please consult us) and the rest of Low Voltage auxiliary elements for protection and control. The general usar system (up to 2000) is located at the upper part of the switchgear. 4 This compartment uses SF6 gas as insulating medium and contains the following elements inside it: 5 Inner usar and connections Disconnector and earthing switch. The main compartment, which uses SF6 gas as insulating medium and contains the circuit reaker is located at the central part of the switchgear. The power cales and the usar system are connected to it y means of ushings. The Medium Voltage incoming/outgoing cale connection compartment is placed in the lower part of the switchgear and is accessile from the rear part. It contains the following elements: dequate socket ushings for the connection of MV cale terminals Pfisterer type straight connectors (optional) Clamps for indiidual fastening of each power cale Socket ushing for simple and safe insulation test of MV cales or for plug-in type oltage transformers (optional) Toroidal-core current transformers (optional). Enironment CBGS-2 switchgears hae een designed with the aim of presering the enironment: the materials used are clearly identified for an easy separation and recycling. Besides, the SF6 can e collected and reused after an appropriate processing. 14 pparatus 52 kv circuit reaker PE55037 PE57616 The circuit reaker The circuit reaker of CBGS-2 switchgears has separate poles, is puffer type and uses SF6 gas as reaking and insulating medium. The cast resin enclosure of the circuit reaker fulfils the requirements of IEC standard regarding sealed pressure systems. The relatie pressure of SF6 filling is 0.48 Mpa (4.8 ar). In the ery improale eent of a pressure falling underneath the estalished working threshold, 2 alarms, (at different leels) will e automatically released. Puffer type reaking system: operating principle (1) The fixed and moile main contacts are initially closed. (2) Precompression When the fixed and moile contacts egin to open, the piston slightly compresses the SF6 gas inside the pressure chamer. (3) rcing period The arc strikes etween the arcing contacts while the piston continues its moement. small quantity of SF6 gas is injected onto the arc through the insulating nozzle. For the reaking of low currents, the arc is cooled y forced conection. For high currents, howeer, thermal expansion causes the hot gases to moe towards the colder parts of the pole unit. The distance etween the two arcing contacts ecomes sufficient for the current to e roken when it reaches the zero point, due to the dielectric properties of SF6 gas. (4) Final sweeping The moing parts finish their moement and the injection of cold gas continues until the contacts are completely open. 15 pparatus Circuit reaker operating mechanism PE57618 Operating mechanism The opening and closing speed of the circuit reaker contacts used for CBGS-2 switchgears is independent of the operator s action. This electrically operated mechanism, which is always motorized, can perform remote control functions and implement fast re-closing cycles. In CBGS-2 type switchgears, all the operating mechanisms are arranged outside the SF6 tank. Furthermore, maintenance in this type of operating mechanisms is quite reduced, as they use self-luricating components. The operating mechanism consists of: spring system that stores the necessary energy for the opening and closing operations. manual spring charging system. n electrical motorized spring charging deice that automatically recharges the springs in less than 5 seconds after the main contacts of the circuit reaker hae closed. 20 pparatus General usar system PE57630 Characteristics of the usar system The usar system is completely segregated and its continuity is achieed y means of three phase usar ushings. The usar compartment is gas-tight and uses SF6 gas as insulating medium. The three position disconnector (open / closed / earthed) is located inside the usar compartment. In case of usar coupling and usar rising switchgears, the standard option is the two position disconnector. The set consists of three independent copper conductie ars. Desiccation ags are included in the usar tanks. Detail of the general usar system Switchgears extension CBGS-2 switchoard can e extended in a quick and simple way on oth ends of the usar system. Extension under oltage is possile in case of doule usar ersion. Such extensions under oltage will e carried out only in those cases when it is asolutely necessary and there is no other choice. They are Pfisterer type, size 3, 52 kv up to 500 mm 2 section, for a maximum insulation diameter of 47.1 mm. For igger sections or igger cale insulation diameters, please consult aailale documentations aout connectors. The maximum numer of power cales per phase is 3, plus a fourth socket for oltage transformers or other elements (arresters).
