Once the file is read you will be able to see the CAS type, VIN number, Key cutting code, Remote Frequency, Chassis code etc. The file will be saved under the VIN number of the vehicle to the XTOOL Internal memory. CAS-3/3+-Slot/ Prox Key CAS-3/3+-Slot Key 2. CAS Update: This function is only for CAS 3+ ISTAP systems. This is to change CAS 3++ ISTAP into a CAS 3+ system to program keys. 4. CAS Restore: This function is only for CAS 3+ ISTAP systems when voltage has been lost or the XTOOL disconnected from the vehicle during the CAS UPDATE procedure. The user can upload the original CAS file if they have taken an EEPROM backup previously and Restore the damaged CAS file. 5. Synchronous DME: This function is to relink the CAS system with the ECU. This is only necessary if the vehicle is not starting after programming keys to the vehicle. A Link between these modules can also drop if the battery power has dropped below 9.5 volts. Sometimes it is necessary to re link these modules in this instance. STEP 7- OBD generate key continued The XTOOL will ask to connect the KC100 Connect the USB C port into the XTOOL as shown below. The XTOOL will prompt to confirm the key position. STEP 8- Put the key into the KC100 for preprocessing. This will write all the data to the key so the CAS system will accept the rest of the programming. 20 R Tech Tips New KC100 and SRS XTOOL KC+ Portal The purpose of this months tech tip is to explain the new XTOOL KC100 & SRS XTOOL KC+ Portal. Access to this portal requires the purchase of the KC100 - an add on device for the XTOOL-AUS Diagnostic machine. The KC100 induction area makes it possible to generate a dealer key from an aftermarket key/transponder chip. The XTOOL-AUS collects this information from the OBD port and the KC100 writes this information directly to the key. This is called Pre-processing. With a pre-processed dealer key from the KC100 it is then possible to add the key into the vehicle using the XTOOL-AUS. This software update covers BMW/MINI CAS systems. Ongoing development will include new vehicle systems in the future.
