2 BEFORE THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA Order Instituting Rulemaking to Review, Revise, and Consider Alternatives to the Power Charge Indifference Adjustment. R (Filed June 29, 2017) SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY S (U 338-E) MOTION FOR ADMISSION OF ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE INTO THE RECORD I. INTRODUCTION Pursuant to California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC or Commission) Rules of Practice and Procedure 11.1 and 13.8(c), Southern California Edison Company (SCE) respectfully submits Motion for Admission of Additional Evidence Into the Record. SCE seeks the admission into the record of an updates to one discovery response. SCE reasonably expects that original version of this discovery response will be included in the evidentiary record pursuant to the unopposed December 5, 2017, Joint Motion of Pacific Gas and Electric Company (U 39-E), Southern California Edison Company (U 338-E), San Diego Gas & Electric Company (U 902-E), Center for Accessible Technology, Marin Clean Energy, and California Choice Energy Authority for Entry of Exhibits Into Evidence. 1

3 II. THE UPDATED DATA REQUEST RESPONSES The updated discovery response is as follows: SCE Response to CCEA SCE-003, Supplemental Question 1 (Amended Response): The original data request asked [f]or the DR responses where SCE has not responded because 2018 rates are not yet available, please use the rates and sales volumes for 2018 as forecast in SCE s 2018 ERRA forecast filing (A ). Because more accurate 2018 data is now available, SCE provided updated information in the amended response, as shown therein. SCE s updated response also includes new assumptions about PCIA rates based on new information regarding SONGS-related costs and LCE generation rates. Finally, as indicated in the updated response, SCE has calculated the percentage of the total bill attributable to PCIA based on the total bill (sum of SCE and Lancaster portions. III. GOOD CAUSE EXISTS FOR THE ENTRY OF ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE INTO THE RECORD Good cause exists for the entry of this limited additional evidence into the record. Here, SCE s updated responses include more recent information and clarifying assumptions. The Commission should make a determination in Track 1 of this proceeding based on the most current and accurate information available. Accordingly, good cause exists for the entry into the record of this additional evidence. 2

4 IV. CONCLUSION For the reasons stated herein, SCE respectfully moves that the following information be admitted into evidence: Exhibit 11 SCE Response to CCEA SCE-003, Supplemental Question 1 (Amended Response) (attached hereto as Exhibit 11). Respectfully submitted, JANET S. COMBS RUSSELL A. ARCHER /s/ Russell A. Archer By: Russell A. 6 Southern California Edison Power Charge Indifference Adjustment OIR R DATA REQUEST SET R CCEA-SCE-003 Supplemental Question 01-Supplemental Amended: To: CCEA Prepared by: Desiree Wong Title: Senior Advisor Dated: 10/30/2017 For the DR responses where SCE has not responded because 2018 rates are not yet available, please use the rates and sales volumes for 2018 as forecast in SCE s 2018 ERRA forecast filing (A ). Response to Question 01-Supplemental Amended: SCE has updated its responses to Questions 9 and 10 and appended the updated tables (including links to source data) to the original excel file provided in CCEA-SCE-003 Q.01. The original tabs are colored in orange; the new tabs are colored in blue. Specifically, SCE has updated the 2018 rates to reflect the rates implemented on January 1, Additionally, SCE has added or modified the following elements: SCE has added LCE generation rates based on the rates provided to SCE in SCE-CCEA-01 and 01 Supplemental. SCE has provided estimated PCIA rates for October 1, 2018 that reflect the removal of the SONGS Revenue Requirement from the PCIA. The latter is contingent upon the Commission approval of the Proposed Settlement filed on January 30, 2018 in I SCE has calculated the "% of total bill attributable to PCIA" based on the total bill (sum of SCE and Lancaster portions). The rows have been re-ordered
