3 Introduction to Hong Kong Electrical Product (Safety) Regulation An electrical product shall be designed and constructed in order to ensure that: persons are adequately protected against danger of physical injury or other harm; temperatures, arcs or radiation which are not part of the intended function of the product, and likely to cause a danger, are not produced; Persons are adequately protected against non-electrical danger caused by the electrical product; persons are adequately protected against danger due to hazardous materials used in the electrical product; the insulation is suitable for foreseeable conditions.
