Designed to work with our lighted TALON 1K Remote Hooks and our new controller. For maximum versatility, it can be configured in the field with your choice of four, six or eight independent load points by adding or removing spokes and hooks. z Illuminated Feedback Carousel provides illuminated feedback showing which hook is staged for release. z Automatic Hook Advancement Controller keeps track of which hooks have been released and automatically advances to arm the next hook. z Controller Override Pilots can bypass the auto advance settings and drop loads out of sequence if needed, including drop-all functionality. z Easy to Configure A DIP switch lets you enable or disable various custom features (such as drop-all functionality, select hook, etc.) without the need to flash new software. z Automatic Hook Detection Controller senses the number of cargo hooks connected and adapts its logic. Based on extensive customer feedback, we built the TALON 1K Carousel Hook from the ground up to ensure it would include your most requested features. Available with or without a built-in LED light. z Easily Drop Light Loads Keep light loads from hanging up on the load beam with a hook that can open even with zero-weight loads! Also, the load beam opens to almost 90 degrees for reliable unloading. z Dual Actuation Release Lever Helps eliminate accidental releases caused by contact with branches with a dual actuation release lever that must be pinched together to pull open. These swivels have been designed to interface directly with our TALON Remote Cargo Hooks, eliminating the need for additional shackles to attach your longline and remote hook to the swivel. In 2013, the FAA issued a safety alert for operators (SAFO 13010) to outline current guidance and best practices for Part 133 external load operators. The SAFO discusses the importance of using a swivel so that spinning loads do not affect flight safety. The precautions are especially important when rigging loads (or load configurations) that are new to the operator particularly those known to rotate. z Electrical Connection Provides a continuous electrical connection between the cockpit release and the remote cargo hook. The cargo hook is integrated with your choice of a half-cage or full-cage rugged hook guard to increase protection for the entire unit. With large throats, added safety features and simplified design, these hooks have proven to be as popular with ground crews as they are with pilots. They are particularly well-suited to non-repetitive longline lifts where security of the load is paramount and detachment of the load can be accomplished by ground crew. Our rotating Crew-Loc Hooks are available in both fullcage and half-cage configurations and are rated for 6,000 LB (2,722 KG). Loads are released by manually depressing the release lever on the Crew-Loc Hook and either lifting off the rigging or manually rotating the load beam upwards (loads will not drop by simply depressing the release lever). For optimal safety and performance, regular maintenance and adherence to the overhaul schedule are essential. If it s time to service or overhaul your cargo hook, you have several options: z Send it back to Onboard Systems for factory service z Send it to a qualified repair facility z Service it yourself You can review these options in detail in our booklet, Your Guide to Overhaul Options, which is available for download at our website, or request a mailed copy. FACTORY OVERHAUL Our standard overhaul service includes all recommended procedures listed in the cargo hook service manual or component maintenance manual, including: z Disassembly, inspection, cleaning, lubrication, & reassembly z Replacement of all threaded fasteners, bearings, and bushing springs included in our overhaul kits z Non-destructive inspection and testing (NDT) of structural components z Replacement of worn or corroded parts z Performing any outstanding Service Bulletin compliance z Surface refinishing z Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) FIXED PRICING Onboard Systems now offers fixed pricing for standard cargo hook overhauls to streamline and expedite the overhaul process.
