8 Steam Ejector BASIC CONSTRUCTION The jet ejector is very reliable equipment without moving part. It s a simple device & consists of 3 basic part, jet nozzle, suction chamber and diffuser. The movie fluid is supplied to the jet nozzle at constant pressure and expands nearly isotropic along the path of jet nozzle with increasing entropy, decreasing enthalpy, increasing specific volume and increasing velocity. The suction fluid is entrained in the suction chamber. The motive and suction fluids is mixed in a near isobaric process with increasing suction fluid velocity and decreasing motive fluid velocity. The result of this action is a mixture of driving and entrained fluids will be compressed in diffuser, with decreasing velocity and increasing entropy and enthalpy. FIG.1 In spite of its apparent simplicity, the operational characteristics are highly complex and can only be treated approximately due to the simplified assumption. This phenomena may be represented schematically shown in Firgure.1 8/41

The first decision to be made is the number of stages to be employed, this is generally based on the optimum operation in the view point of economics. The lower suction pressures are obtained by multi-stage steam jet ejectors. 12 Steam Ejector Pre-condenser with KI-WON Vacuum System If large condensable vapor loads must be handled, such as those from chilled water system & crystallizer, it is normally done with a condenser. It is normally used for the condensation vapor pressure range 50 to 100 Torr, condensable vapor quantities up to several ton/hr., such as the surface condenser with vacuum system for turbine-electrical power plant & the OVHD pre-condenser with vacuum package for dryer-petrochemical plant. The steam jet vacuum system removes the non-condensable gas and holds the vacuum pressure. FIG.7 FIG.8 12/41

13 Steam Ejector KI-WON Steam Jet Booster The vacuum pressure is depend on the temperature for the condenser cooling water. If low pressure is required, a steam jet booster is provided to increase the vacuum to the required point. The function of steam het vacuum booster is to compress the condensable vapor from the suction pressure to the intermediate pressure of intercondenser. 3 stage steam jet booster is designed in a suction pressure range 5 to 20 Torr. 13/41

14 Fresh Water Generator INTRODUCTION KI-WON distilling plants are used for oceangoing ship to produce high purity distilled water from sea water. The distilled water is required to furnish highpurity make-up water for the boiler and potable water for drinking, cooking, dishwashing, ablutionary and laundering purpose. The flash type evaporators become widely accepted for application in marine distilling plants because of low operating temperature in virtually scale-free performance with normal sea water. 14/41

16 Fresh Water Generator PRINCIPLE The main engine jacket cooling water circulates the outside of the vertical tube in heating section and the sea water to be distilled is sent to the bottom cover of this section. Then some of sea water is converted into vapor when it goes up through the heated rubes. The vapor, through the demisters, is condensed on the outer surface of the tubes of the distilling condenser and the resultant distillate is led to the suction of the distillate pump. In the meantime the non-condensable gases and brine are extracted and discharged to overboard by combination ejector. 16/41

19 Flat Level Gauge SATISFACTORINESS OF SOLAS RULE REQUIRMENTS The gauge glass level indicator KIWON model has been developed to comply with the requirements of the SOLAS 2000 amendments. The gauge has been reviewed and in a suitable construction is accepted by marine classification authorities throughout the world. SPECIFICATIONS This gauge glasses level indicator can be used for tanks on board containing fluids which have a flash point above 60. This gauge glasses are to be fitted with self closing valve at the lower ends and at the top ends if these connected to the tanks below the maximum liquid level.
