1 Page 1 of 8 TI-P486-1 CH Issue 1 VCSG Vertical Clean Steam Generator Description The Spirax Ultrapure vertical clean steam generator (VCSG) is designed to create clean steam, with plant steam as the energy source. Typical applications are those where plant steam is not suitable for your process, due to unacceptable boiler feedwater chemicals, scale and corrosion particles. With the addition of a unique demister head, this product will produce clean steam in compliance with International Pharmacopoeia grade purified water (PW) for sterile applications where endotoxin levels are not a concern. For pure, endotoxin free, steam please refer to Spirax Ultrapures range of pure steam generators type PSG. Each VCSG is manufactured from 316L stainless steel to ensure the integrity of your system and is designed, constructed and stamped in accordance with ASME Code. Materials of construction Product contact components 316L stainless steel Frame Carbon Steel Control panel Carbon Steel Insulation 2" Mineral Wool/ Anodized Aluminum Sheath Feedwater requirements The Spirax Ultrapure VCSG is capable of producing clean steam when the starting feedwater is pretreated with a mixed bed DI, RO permeate, or softened, dechlorinated potable water as a minimum. Packaging The Spirax Ultrapure VCSG is shrink wrapped and mounted on a wooden pallet base. For shipments outside of the USA the equipment is shrink-wrapped and enclosed in a wooden crate for added protection. Utility requirements All equipment is pre-wired and piped ready for connection to the air supply and power source.
