13 Chinook CH-47F Block II Program Description Block II provides the most affordable path to maintaining the CH-47 Chinook Fleet s relevance though Purpose of Block II: Buy back lost Chinook performance capability due to MEP Address the CH-47F and SOCOM obsolescence and need to RECAP Meet existing and future operational requirements of Force 2025 and reduces Operating and Support (O&S) cost. Program Status Schedule The Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) Study will inform the next phase of the CH-47 Block II program. 14 Degraded Visual Environment (DVE) / Brownout Rotorcraft Enhancement System (BORES) Program Descrip6on The DVE/BORES is an Army aviation program providing critical operational capabilities for the Combat Aviation Brigades (CAB). BORES will initially enable approaches, landing and takeoff (limited hover and ground taxi) for single aircraft operations in a degraded environment. Capabilities: Pilotage system Multi sensor Hazard avoidance Synthetic vision Forward looking Aircraft: CH-47F, UH-60M&V, and HH-60M. Army Aviation will field other DVE solutions in the AH-64 and later in all airframes to enable operations in all modes of flight in all environmental conditions.
