It will also have the capacity to provide broad area coverage for extended periods of time to support numerous strikes or other air operations in a federated context. he -18 is a scaleable, flexible solution that facilitates ask rganized force structures. he task organized force structures employ adequate forces to accomplish a specific task while maintaining the operation and personnel tempo at acceptable levels. he -18 is being designed to perform a range of lectronic Warfare/lectronic ttack functions either simultaneously or independently. he man in the loop operation and advanced information display system will allow real time assessment of the tactical situation and the appropriate response executed in accordance with the rules of engagement. I 2008/09 Q: unding is requested to procure 18-18s in his is the fourth year of a planned five year ( ) multiyear procurement () based on an aircraft quantity of 210, which includes 158 /-18/s in (not reflected in this budget line) and 52-18s in his contract is currently funded at the minimum yearly quantity of 42 aircraft per year. he contract has a variation quantity clause permitting an additional 6 aircraft per year. his contract is projected to yield savings/cost avoidance of $1.052 (10.95%) over a single year procurement strategy. he clause incorporates adjustments to aircraft prices between the baseline (first quarter calendar year () 2003 lobal Insight cost planner) and the applicable forecasted annual indices for each program year ( 2006 for program year 05). rice adjustments are made only if the current forecasted composite escalation indices are greater than +/- one percent of the baseline index. ue to various contributing factors (international economic growth, increased demand for raw materials,.. government titanium protections, etc.), an cost adjustment has been applied to the budget for he -18 rogram will procure assets using the contract vehicle once the ilestone ecision uthority () grants approval at each milestone.
