This is thanks to the i-activsense technologies, an intelligent collection of safety features that use sensors and a camera to monitor your surroundings and provide protection and convenience. i-activsense The i-activsense system operates across the entirety of the Mazda CX-5 to provide you with generous levels of security and comfort. The vehicle incorporates technologies that are specially designed to aid you when driving on busy or overly populated streets, helping to avoid collisions or reduce their severity. Combined with the rigid SUV body, and both side and window airbags, each technology of the i-activsense system ensures you remain safe, without reducing comfort or Mazda s fun-to-drive experience. SMART CITY BRAKE SUPPORT (SCBS)** LANE KEEP ASSIST SYSTEM (LAS)* Designed to help minimise the risk of low-speed collisions. The system monitors the gap and closing speed of the vehicle in front, automatically braking if a collision is likely at speeds up to approximately 30 km/h. Designed to prevent the car from inadvertently straying from its lane by using a front-view camera to monitor the car s position on the road. The system alerts the driver via an audible warning alarm and vibrations in the steering wheel if the vehicle moves out of the lane unintentionally and will take correcting actions to keep it in its lane. BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM (BSM)* REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT (RCTA)* WIDE RANGE LOW BEAM* Radar-based system alerts you if a vehicle enters your blind spot. If you indicate to change lanes or a vehicle encroaches from up to 45m behind when driving, the system informs you via an audible warning alarm and flashing door mirror indicators. The alarm stops once it is clear, allowing you to safely change lanes. Specifically designed for when you are reversing, the system alerts you of any vehicles or obstacles approaching from either side. An audible warning and flashing door mirror indicators inform you if any vehicles are within an unsafe distance. The alarm stops once the area is clear, allowing you to continue reversing safely. Wide-distribution low beam expands the area of illumination on either side of the vehicle where traditional headlights cannot.
