Overhung LoadS and Thrust Loads An overhung load exists when a force is applied at right angles to a shaft beyond the shaft s outermost bearing. Pulleys, sheaves and sprockets will cause an overhung load when used as a power take-off. The amount of overhung load will vary, depending on the type of power take-off used and its mounting location on the shaft. The LeCentric overhung load ratings listed in this catalog and in selection tables are calculated at the centerline of the shaft. Overhung load ratings are listed for each reducer size and should not be exceeded. If the basic reducer is selected using a service factor, that factor must also be used in the equations below. 7 BRAVO REDUCER MOUNTING POSITIONS Carefully follow lubrication instructions and installation manuals furnished with the gear reducer. All standard LeCENTRIC Inline Reducers are factory filled with Mobil Glygoyle 460 Polyglycol lubricant. The mounting position is stamped on all LeCENTRIC Reducer nameplates. Position H3 is standard. Specify mounting position of reducer for correct oil fill. Positions B3-B8 are horizontal mounts. Positions V5 and V6 are vertical mounts. Helical - Inline Mounting Positions B6 B7 B3 (Standard Position) Standard mounting position is B3. All reducers will be filled to this level, unless otherwise specified. B8 V5 V6* **Not Recommended BRAVO Accessory Kits Motorized Reducers & GEAR+MOTOR The Reducer and Motor are assembled at the Factory, and filled with the proper quantity of lubricant based on your specified mounting position. Special integral gearmotors are available. Consult Factory for details. Standard Integral Gearmotors and GEAR+MOTOR are assembled at the Factory with the conduit box and the conduit opening at the position illustrated on page 464. The user may rotate the body of the motor to reposition the conduit box (in 90 increments from original position). The conduit opening may also be repositioned at 90 increments from the original position. Both operations may be performed without disassembling the drive. Backstops Backstops are available as Factory options. Consult the Factory for details.
