To address some concerns brought up by club members regarding our monthly meeting, the board is looking at possible new locations for the club to try. For May, our club meeting will be held at the Pizza Garden Buffet in Bedford. As the name implies, it is an all-you-can eat buffet. It has a separate meeting room that we will be using that seats 45-50, and a large parking lot in easy view. It is a great layout for people to start bringing their cars back to the meetings!! May 5pm Pizza Garden Buffet 217 Harwood Rd Bedford, TX SpeedTek Dyno Day We will be having another club dyno day on May 7th, starting at 10am. Cost is $35 for three runs if we get a minimum of 10 cars. Come on out, find out what your car makes, and support a dedicated club sponsor. The club will have the smoker there with some burgers and dogs for lunch Airport Frwy Haltom City, TX Chrysler Meet & Greet - Carrollton Parts Distribution Center To follow up last years excellent event, Chrysler will be having another meet and greet at the PDC in Carrollton. This year they will have door prizes, and they have a much larger food budget (at no cost to attendees). Fee: It s FREE!! Date: Saturday, May 21st Time: 10-2pm So come on out and have some FUN!!!!!

3 I'M BACK!!!!!! WOW has it really been four years since I was president of the best club on the planet? As you well know Ken Key and I are the only 2 new board members. As Ken and I work to replace Kevin Alexander and Frank Smith I want to thank them and all the board members for their leadership. May will be a very busy month! May 1st race at Kennedale, May 7th dyno day at SpeedTek, May 14th Mopars at the Motorplex, May 15th Cowtown Mopars monthly meeting at our new location (Pizza Garden) and May 21st cruise-in at the Mopar parts depot in Carrollton. I'm really looking forward to all of the things we have planned for this month and I hope to see you at them all. Last but not at all least our annual car show. We had 41 entries this year. It was a beautiful day and I got to see several people that I haven't seen in a while. I also got to look at some cars that I had never seen before. It was a cool day, but the best part was spending time with friends!! We have already been talking about next year's show. It's never too early to start planning. If you have any ideas, comments, concerns or whatever on your mind please let me know about them. We as a board for Cowtown Mopars want your input as we plan for future of your club, COWTOWN MOPARS. May is already packed full, with two major highlights being the Mopars at the Motorplex, and the gathering at the Chrysler Parts Distribution Center. The rest of the year will be equally busy, and that is what is needed to keep members involved in the club. Our 25th Annual Car Show and Corral held in April, was a great time, with a good turnout and some new and different cars. Did you see the survivor '70 Hemi GTX? Wow! Special thanks to Rick Mariano for serving as MC, and to Brian Carpenter for bringing some great music, and working as the DJ.. As scary as is sounds, they make a good team. The board is going to be tossing some new ideas at the membership throughout the year. We want to generate some fresh enthusiasm for CMPT activities for all members, regardless of their individual areas of interest. We look forward to your feedback and input. Let's have some fun. Dodge Charger Registry The Dodge Charger Registry is compiling a list of Chargers to help with tracking down parts, finding vehicles, and generating demand for reproduction parts. 8 ACTIVITIES PLANNING Our Activity for the month of May is the Dyno Day at Speedtek on Saturday May 7 th. We will start at 10:00 am and cookie will be working his magic with the cooker so we can enjoy lunch while we re there. Cost for the dyno run is $35. We have something going on every weekend so there are lots of opportunities this month to get together and see lots of cars, eat lots of food and even race. We have a couple of possibilities working for June so stay tuned. As always, if you have any ideas for events, PLEASE let me know.
