Several Flap Gate types and configurations are available to meet different field mounting requirements, including water, wastewater, and seawater. UHMWPE Bushings Bearing arm Adjustable Hinge Bearings Frame Flap Seal EPDM gasket Flap Flap Seal Retainer Ring Gravity Operated Minimal water pressure is needed for operation. Flap opens when the head in the pipe or conduit exceeds 0.2 feet (0.6m) above the head in the receiving body of water. Flap closes when the head in the receiving body of water exceeds the head in the pipe or conduit. Low headloss when fully open. Cast or Fabricated Depending on application, installation, and preferences, Flap Gates are available in high strength stainless steel (ASTM A0 Type 304L or 316L) or cast iron (A126 Class B). Circular, Square, and Rectangular Designs Choose from a wide range of sizes and configurations for openings 4 to 144 and greater. Low Leakage Cast iron to resilient or bronzetobronze seating is available on cast iron Flap Gates, and resilient to stainless steel seating on fabricated Flap Gates. Both provide a tight seal for low leakage when closed. Low Maintenance All Flap Gate models offer high corrosion resistance, low maintenance, and a variety of mounting options. Flexible Flap Options A stainless steel frame with neoprene flap provides quiet operation, and can be custom sized for any application up to 48 (1200mm) wide. 11 Design Features Series FVSPR, FVAC, FVACP, FVAR UPPER PIVOT is adjustable to vary the flap valve s sensitivity to unseating heads. RESILIENT SEAT is firmly bonded to the machined groove in the body. This seat is normally supplied as neoprene or BunaN rubber. Resilient seats are used where low backflow leakage rates are desired. LOWER PIVOT allows for a controlled amount of cover rotation to assure that cover seat and body seat lie in the same plane. ANTILOCKING BAR is supplied when specified, and prevents flap overturn damage. BRONZE SEAT is mounted in a machined, dovetailed groove.
