Over the past several months, the management team at Hino has monitored the truck market rebound, the U.S. economy, and foreign currency exchange rates to develop a plan that supported our customers and dealers in the short term, while sustaining a business model for the long term. With these factors in mind, we are pleased to announce that after some aggressive cost cutting measures and relative stability with the Japanese Yen, we will be introducing the 195 and 195h as a 2013MY product. We will offer the Class and 195h models at 19,500 GVW ratings. 2 Hino & Amthor Trucks Tank Program Running Full Steam Ahead At the beginning of 2012, Hino announced a Tank Body Program for the refined fuel, propane, fire prevention, vacuum/septic and all related tank industries supported by Amthor International. Now eclipsing 10 percent of the class 6 and 7 market, Hino s overall market share continues to grow as more customers in more vocations are experiencing the low cost of ownership of the Hino truck. The tank truck vocation was a natural progression as we see tremendous opportunity for growth in this market. We have already begun to see positive signs, and have taken the next steps in our partnership with Amthor. Recent Advancements & Future Goals Participation in three national tradeshows - Pumper & Cleaner Environmental Expo, National Propane & Gas Association, and the Atlantic Region Energy Expo. A professional photo shoot just wrapped up and will be the final components in new literature supporting the tank product. Want a chance to demo a Hino tank? Hino now has four trucks that are part of the corporate demo fleet that is available to travel to dealerships for customer demonstrations they include a vacuum, oil, propane and septic tank. Hino Trucks nationwide dealer network has the opportunity to become a one-stop location for the truck chassis, truck tank and all other necessary equipment as well as future service and parts. These Hino Trucks dealers will be trained on the sales, marketing, installation, service and maintenance of Amthor Tanks mounted on a Hino chassis. Future plans include growing the program in areas such as Canada we just sold our first one! 4 From the Show Floor Mid-America Trucking Show. A staple of the industry, Mid America celebrated their 40th annual event. Hino Trucks presence included five vocational trucks including a tow, service, vacuum, box and city tractor. These trucks represent the breadth of our product line to owner operators nationwide. National Propane Gas Association (NPGA). New to this year s show schedule to highlight our new Amthor propane tank, the National Propane Gas Association is the largest propane-related tradeshow in the world! This annual event has grown beyond a regional tradeshow to become a global meeting place for the propane industry. Beverage Fleet and Operations Summit. An era dominated by record low new housing starts, low U.S. Truck tonnage and high unemployment. If we were meteorologists, it was a forecast that appealed to very few people. As those storms are changing to isolated showers, we should all be focused on how the commercial vehicle industry will recover both nationally and in your own markets. This period of growth can be bumpy and is often a dividing front between repairing or replacing trucks for fleet operators. We believe that the Aftermarket parts outlook is Mostly Sunny supported by US fleet operators that have been keeping vehicles longer, the average age of a class 8 truck on the road is now over 9 years of age and a class 6-7 vehicle is now over 8 years of age. Add together the aging US fleet, the increased vehicle utilization rate forecast and the moderate economic growth improvements seen in Q1 of 2012, and the aftermarket parts business looks very attractive. When embracing the recovery, remember you should be re-establishing your footing, visiting all your customers and redefining with them your ability to support their needs for both Parts and Service. Every truck dealer in the United States should also recognize threats from independent repair shops and WD retail locations that could emerge in your market overnight. 9 ATD Truck Dealer of the Year Terry Dotson, president, chairman and CEO of Worldwide Equipment Enterprises, was named the American Truck Dealers/Heavy Duty Trucking Truck Dealer of the Year. Terry operates two Hino franchises, one in Lexington KY and one in Dayton OH. Terry dotson To remain both adaptive and proactive, I am constantly looking for inventive, new ways to better serve our customers and our employees. In this age of instant gratification everything is better, cheaper, stronger, and faster. Our position is to provide a source of value. Under his leadership, the company has grown from a small supplier to the coal industry to a major supplier of the region's trucking industry. Worldwide today owns 15 full-service dealerships, following its late 2011 purchase of two South Carolina Kenworth dealerships, as well as 20 parts and leasing stores in West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and South Carolina. Total sales grew from $69.2 million to $271.9 million. On top of that, Worldwide Equipment's leasing arm fleet of over 1,000 units generates $17.8 million revenue annually. Seven commercial truck dealers from the United States and Canada were nominated by their peers for the award. Nominees are evaluated based on several categories, including dealership performance, civic contributions and industry leadership. The winner and runner-up were chosen by a panel of professors from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. 10 What s new with hino Trucks? New marketing manager - Adrian Ratza While we can t predict the future, Hino s new keting Manager has prepared for this position since his college days. Adrian Ratza brings a strong knowledge of the marketing profession with experience in event coordination and promotional marketing for small market sports teams. He joined Hino Motors Sales in 2009 as Sales Support Coordinator in Dealer Operations, and quickly learned the ropes in various dealer support roles along with being the subject matter expert for Hino Premier Customer Care and Dealer Demo Program manager. Adrian s educational background built the foundation for his commitment to excellence as keting Manager, as he has earned his BBA in Management from Saginaw Valley State University, and later his MBA from Baker College Center for Graduate Studies. Here he learned the importance of ensuring that personal vision and mission are consistent with organizational vision and mission, which is what makes Adrian and the keting Manager position at Hino an ideal fit. Adrian joined Glenn Ellis and the rest of the keting team on ruary 1, and will use his passion for analyzing the commercial truck industry and Hino Trucks to deliver the Hino message to the right audience.
