2 Changes of the windscreen The installation of the windscreen, it should only be done by experienced professionals, in case of doubt during the installation, contact the available attendance in the pamphlet of the net of services that accompanies all of the vehicles, as well as points of authorized service. 1 PREPARATION 1.1 TABLE OF SUPPORT This table is for the instalation to have the necessary support so that the change is made, with total safety. 3 1.3 REMOVAL OF THE REARVIEW MIRROR The rearview mirror on the side that will change the windscreen will have to be removed. A key is used Allen no. 5. 4 1.2 PROTECTION OF THE BORDERS The border where is fit in the glasses should be protected with ribbon for not scratching the painting. The ribbon should be last for the whole turn, besides in the middle of the windscreen, if there is division in the glass. The bass part should be protected with paper, for not scratching the painting. 5 3 TO REMOVE THE WINDSCREEN 3.1 TO CUT THE GLASS The windscreen to be removed, it should be cut with the glass mountain (Fig.1). the glass is cut in the songs, for all his turn, without affecting the borders. See in the images below: The cut should be made by trained people, using all of safety's protections, to avoid any accident type. See in the image to the side, as the windscreen they can be cut, and see the distance of the cut in relation to the central column, if has, and borders how they should be. 3.2 TO REMOVE THE RESIDUES The sticker residues should be removed with the knife, being been careful for the tool not to lean the knife in the structure, where the residue of the glass and eraser this glued. It is necessary to remove the excess of the eraser, it is not necessary to remove completely, only enough, to leave from 1 to 2 mm, so that the new sticker has a better adherence. The tool knife, present in the previous chapter is used. (Fig.2) Care when removing the sticker that it remained, therefore she should not arrive very close of the painting of anti-corrosion protection (green). In case it happens small scratched in this removal to use Betaprimer 5500SA DOW for finishing touch and protection. 4

6 See the images below: Adesivo sobrando 4 CLEANING OF THE PLACE 4.1 CLEANING OF THE STRUCTURE The structure should be cleans with a jet of air (exempt of oiliness), for every glass powder to be removed formed by the mountain tool and for the knife. Soon afterwards it will be necessary to pass a clean cloth with alcohol for the whole area that had the solitary sticker, for all to be removed of the sludges, as for instance, digital, liquids, etc. 4.2 CLEANING OF THE WINDSCREEN The new windscreen that it will be put at the place of the old windscreen, that was removed, should be clean using a cloth with alcohol (it lets to evaporate for 5 minutes) for the whole area of the border, because some will be passed products for adherence of the glue, in this clean area. Using for that an eraser glove and a clean flannel with some alcohol. 5

7 5 APPLICATION 5.1 PROTECTION OF THE WINDSCREEN The protection of the windscreen should be made going a ribbon crape by the whole turn of the glass, inside, just leaving an area of 2 cm, that is the area that the activator was applied and that it will receive the primer after at least 15 minutes to evaporate the whole solvent of the activator. Beside the front of the glass, the ribbon should cover the whole extremity, for protection it expresses of the windscreen. See in the image below how to proceed: Protection with ribbon 5.2 APPLICATION To use Activator soon after the cleaning with alcohol. Passing in the border of the new windscreen, in a strip of more or less 2 cm once in a single sense. Besides in the lateral of the windscreen (Fig.11), for a better adherence of the glue. 8 Check in the image to the side (Fig.11), the distance that she should pass the activator. Repair that the activator is gone by the whole extremity of the glass and also in lateral one, for a better adherence of Primer. The application of the activator should be made by experienced people and using all of safety's instruments. Pic THE PRIMER APPLICATION The application of the primer should be made over the place where the activator was applied, respecting the place of the ribbon crape. To apply on the surface a layer not very thick, avoiding to be slippery, and uniform avoiding to put upon the layers, so that it dries faster. Remember that should also be applied in the lateral of the windshield. It is very important to let to dry for 15 minutes, before applying the glue. Sika Primer 206 G+P 7

9 5.4 SUPPORT OF THE WINDSCREEN See the images below the supports of the windscreen. Follow the instructions to the side to know how to put them. Remember that the support cannot have superior hardness to the material of the cured sticker. Put the lateral support, see illustration (Fig.6) in the chapter 2, in the place of the thread of the cleaner of glasses. The central support, see illustration (Fig.7) in the chapter 2, it should be put in the center, in the part of bass of the windscreen, so that the same is leaning on them. 5.5 APPLYING BETAMATE 7120 DOW Betamate 7120 DOW sees illustration (Fig.4) in the chapter 2, it serves as sticker, of the windscreen to the structure of the truck. Also see the image of the bomb application (Fig.10). A same amount should be applied, for the whole turn of the structure, where it will be to glue the windscreen. That amount should be to give the finish in the end of the process. It is important to certify that there are not spaces between the collage string and finish. The minimum period for drying is of 8 hours depending on the temperature and humidity. 8

10 6 THE WINDSCREEN 6.1 THE WINDSCREEN The windscreen should be put at the place where the other was removed, being paid attention to the supports of the windscreen. It is important to certify that the windscreen to be prepared is the same of the truck, to see classifies of pieces. In the final image we have the windscreen put already. To arrange, so that the windshield is aligned. In the end of the placement of the windscreen, it should remove the excess of Sikaflex, and to give the finish, so that it is a flat surface. Remove the ribbons before the time of skin formation Check to the side in the images: 6.2 FINISH The finish should be made moistening one of the hands with water and soap and passing on Betamate DOW, leaving like this the flatest surface. 6.3 ALIGNMENT To align the windscreen, we will use the windy tool, (Fig.9 in the chapter 2). The alignment is very important, because he guarantees to avoid the wear and tear of the slats of the cleaner. 9

11 6.4 FINAL IMAGE If you did as it is written in this manual, the final result should be same to this of the image below. Remember that the sticker will need some days for total cure, during this period it drives carefully. Check in the image 10
