3 Pro Form s Pliogrip Truck Line adhesives are recommended and approved at the OEM level. They are used on a daily bases by most truck manufacturers for assembling and bonding panels and parts. This adhesive system is based on curing times and can be used to bond most materials found in the trucking industry. URETHANE ADHESIVE PF PF PF 7770 Urethane adhesives are two part systems, one part resin and the other a curing agent offering different work time to fit all types of repair. Urethane adhesives offer the ultimate in bond strength and flexibility. They can be used to bond, fill and repair. These adhesives will adhere to most adequately prepared surfaces such as plastics, fibreglass, SMC, aluminum and bare metal. FIBREGLASS MATTING ADHESIVE PF (flowable matting adhesive) Flowable, two part, low viscosity urethane adhesive designed to saturate fibreglass mat or cloth. Ideal for preparing backing patch on fibreglass and SMC repairs. This self-leveling product can also be used to fill small cracks and channels where regular consistency adhesive cannot penetrate. EASY SANDING 100% SOLIDS, DOES NOT SHRINK DIFFERENT CURE TIMES AVAILABLE FLEXIBLE VIBRATION AND FATIGUE RESISTANT EPOXY ADHESIVE PF (parts and panel structural adhesive) Epoxy adhesives PF offers extended work time to easily repair large panels, large surfaces or to be used when longer work time is required. It seals and bonds in one application and offers excellent bond strength and flexibility. It will adhere to most adequately prepared surfaces such as plastics, fibreglass, SMC, aluminum and bare metal. The glass beads mixed in this formulation provide the adequate spacing between parts for optimal bond strength. DOES NOT SHRINK FLEXIBLE LONGER WORK TIME EPOXY REPAIR KIT PF PF PF PF 704 (for finishing over urethane adhesives and for cosmetic repairs) Epoxy adhesive are an excellent choice for cosmetic repairs on most plastics, fibreglass and SMC. It s smooth and easy to sand formulation also makes it the ideal product for skim coating over urethane based adhesives such as Pliogrip. 4 DIRECTIONS FOR USE REPAIR PROCEDURES 1. Clean area to be repaired: Metal structure with PF 605 Wax and Grease Remover. Fibreglass, SMC and plastics with PF 606 Plastic Parts Cleaner. 2. Remove rust and paint from surface to be bonded or repaired and bondline using a grit abrasive disc. 3. On Fibreglass and SMC repairs, scuff sand and u-groove the area with grit abrasive without going through the gel-coat. 4. For panel bonding, straighten and repair part and structure. Check for fit and alignment. 5. For Aluminum parts, scuff sand bondline areas with grit. Clean with aluminum prep. Once prepared, bond immediately. Reoccurrence of oxidation will affect bond integrity. 6. Choose the Pliogrip Structural Adhesive that best fits your desired work time. 7. When structural backing or reinforcement is required, use the appropriate structural patch for your repair. Pro Form offers Fibreglass and SMC cloth, Fibreglass mat or Nylon Reinforcing tape. 8. For the front side repair, abrade the surface with a DA sander using an 80 grit disc at low RPM. Visible adhesive from the back side repair must be completely abraded. There should not be any shiny spots. Use a clean dry air source to blow any debris from the surface. Do not use solvent. 9. Use an epoxy adhesive to finish the front side of the repair. For rigid parts use PF (or PF 702) for flexible plastics use PF (or PF 704). On TPO plastics use PF 612 TPO Adhesion Promoter and follow it s instructions prior of applying epoxy finishing material. COSMETIC REPAIR 1. Cosmetic repairs are recommended for small damages on parts not subjected to stress or vibrations. 2. Clean surface to be repaired as per instructions. Abrade the surface to be repaired with grit abrasive. 3. Use a clean dry air source to blow debris from the surface. 4. Apply a thin coat of epoxy adhesive. Let dry for 20 minutes. Sand with 80 grit sandpaper at low speed to remove the glossy film. Build subsequent coats until repair is complete. 5. Let dry completely (approximately 20 minutes). 6. Sand the glossy film with an 80 grit sandpaper and let dry. Allow additional drying time if needed 7. Finish sanding with 180 grit paper then 280 grit and finish with 320 grit sandpaper. 8. Use a clean dry air source to blow debris from the surface. 9. You can now proceed to prime the surface with a high quality non-lacquer based primer. CAUTION Never apply polyester based filler and putty directly on Pro Form Pliogrip Urethane Adhesives. Always use a non-contaminated clean air source to blow debris off the surfaces to be repaired. Products and surfaces must be at normal shop temperatures ( above 21ºC / 70ºF ). Never mix urethane adhesives without mixing nozzle; this will introduce moisture resulting in popping. Do not overheat plastics being repaired. Always sand at low revolution. To store unused adhesives for future applications, leave the mixing nozzle on the cartridge. Ensure the adhesive flows out in a uniform colour every time a new mixing nozzle is used. SMC / FRP must be thoroughly dry before proceeding. In case of any doubt, heat surface gently using a heat gun. Do not overheat. Sanding and grinding at low speed will prevent overheating the repair.
