Product Description Ideal Replacement Lamp for downlight with Dimming Controls LumiDas-D 6W Dimmable Lamp is a highly efficient downlight LED replacement lamp Replaces 40W incandescent lamps and equivalent CFL lamps Lamp body is made of plastic, thus electrically safe and light Optimization of parts and design drastically reduces manufacturing costs Effective thermal management systems with optimal heat dissipation design Plastic lens body and inside metal layers maintain superb luminance Uses LED modules with good Tc temperature and thermo-resistant coefficients which increase longevity and reliability. Natural lighting available with a dimming function Compatible with general TRIAC dimmers for dimming Adjusts light output from 10% to 100% of original light output. When a lamp is used at the ambient operation temperature and relative humidity, an average warranted lifetime of the lamp is guaranteed. 9) While the lamp operates on the maximum and minimum operation temperature, its lifetime and light output can be reduced if the lamp is used at the maximum/minimum temperature for an extended period of time. It may cause a malfunction. Details are explained in Appendix C. 10)The electrical and photometric characteristics are measured by Fawoo Technology's testing equipments and methodologies based on LM79 standard. The provided test results may differ slightly from actual products performance within tolerable ranges. 5

11 5. Installation & Warnings Please read this section carefully before installation for safe use. Before installing the lamp, check installation socket for defects. Make sure the input power and base are suitable for the LumiDas-D lamp. To prevent damage and/or external shocks, DO NOT allow sharp materials to come into contact with the lamp surface. DO NOT expose lamp or installation socket to direct heat. Make sure to have proper ground wiring to prevent unintentional short circuit/electrical leakage. The power must be disconnected when installing or making adjustments to the lamp. Gently turn the lamp clockwise when installing it into the fixture. After installation, be sure that the lamp looks sturdy and is completely in the socket. DO NOT use chemical cleaners on the lamp. DO NOT disassemble the lamp without the presence of an authorized person. There are NO user-serviceable parts inside; tampering with them may cause fire and/or electric shock. The lamp is for indoor use only. When the lamp is installed in an enclosed space, the temperature of the lamp increases resulting in a shorter lifetime. If you wish to install the lamp in an enclosed space please consult sales persons/customer service department. Fawoo Technology will take a responsibility for any defects and malfunction when the user complies with above installation methods and cautions. 11

12 5. Installation & Warnings About Dimming LumiDas-D is not dimmable without the dimmer. You need a dimmer to dim the lamp. If flickering occurs during dimming, adjust the switch at the location/level where flickering does not occur. You may hear some light noise when using a dimmer, but this is not abnormal. Changes in light output and wattage consumption of a dimmable lamp are different from those of incandescent lamps. Reducing the light using dimmers does not prevent consumption of electricity. We recommend turning off the switch when the lamp is not in use for long periods of time. When turning on the lamp when the dimmer is set to 0%, the light may not come on instantly. Setting the dimmer 100% will allow the lamp to become lit as soon as it is turned on. Flickering or trembling can occur when there is a change in input electricity. Using a hair dryer, a vacuum cleaner, or microwave can affect the electricity and may cause flickering or trembling. Some dimmers may cause flickering and provide different range of dimming. Dimmer capacity determines the maximum number of lamps per dimmer. Considering dimming efficiency, it is recommended that you use a maximum of 6 lamps. (More than 6 lamps can be connected to a dimmer, but dimming range is reduced to 50%) Capacity of Dimmer Maximum number Input Voltage Over 200W Over 400W Over 500W Over 800W V V Considering dimming efficiency, 6 lamps are recommended at maximum. (More than 6 lamps can be connected to a dimmer, but dimming range is reduced to 50%) Dimmers can be adjusted from 10% to 100%. Range of dimming depends on the performance of dimmers. When multiple lamps are connected to a dimmer, the lamps turn off at slightly different times at 10% level. When a dimmer is set at a low level, the lamp may not turn on. In this case, set the dimmer level to 100% and turn on the lamp. 12

Warranty Warranty Period: 3 years from the date of purchase from an authorized retailer Warranty covers: Defects discovered while using the lamps under normal and recommended operating conditions during the warranty period. During the given warranty period, we will repair or exchange defective parts or products at no cost. Warranty does not cover: Defects that are discovered after the warranty period expires Defects that are caused by natural disasters and accidents Defects that are caused by negligent handling by users Negligent handling includes but is not limited to: Any unauthorized disassembly Any accidental impact or shock Negligent handling, moving and installing Installing in an improper place which is unable to sustain the weight of the lamp Installing into an excessive input voltage out of the designated input voltage range Loss of warranty or omission of required information on the warranty 13

Accessories Recessed-can type fixture developed by Fawoo Technology(compatible with 3 inch can) and GU10 base LumiDas-D lamp can be used together to install the lamp into an existing recessed-can fixture. The drawing below shows the shape and the size of the installed LumiDas-D lamp in a recessed-can. LumiDas-D lamps with E26/E27 bases cannot be used in a recessed-can fixture, and need to be connected to a separate Edison base socket to be installed in existing recessed-can fixtures on a ceiling. Reliability Testing Data The electrical safety and photometric performance test results are measured at the Fawoo Technology Reliability Center with appropriate equipment and standard measurement methods. The test results show that the lamps are safe for use, reliable and efficient. LumiDas-D 6W has no contact current. It has passed an electrical surge test, noise test, and ESD test. B.1. Contact Current Test Contact current value : 5µA (0.005mA) It registers far below the standard contact current values(0.7ma) designated by IEC standards on integral LED lamps. B.2. The measured values are below the reference value of 2 MΩ. ESD Test PASSED Tested and passed by IEC/KN Level 3 standard. Abnormal Transient Voltage Test PASSED Tested and passed at abnormal transient voltage of 132V and 90V. 16

When tested at an ambient operating temperature from multiple directions, the temperature of the LED lead frame is 81~86. (@Ta = 33 ) To guarantee the lifetime of LED lamps, Tj temperature should be maintained at below 110. The Tj test result is 96~101 regarding heat dissipation coefficiency. Therefore, the expected lifetime is guaranteed when the lamp is used in an open (not-closed) fixture/space at an ambient operating temperature. When tested in a closed, paper box, Tj temperature rises and the expected lifetime is reduced to 25,000 hours. Using the lamp in a closed fixture of space is not recommended. 17

When a lamp is used at the ambient operation temperature and relative humidity, an average warranted lifetime of the lamp is guaranteed. If the lamp operates temporarily out of the recommended operation temperature, but within the range of the maximum and minimum operation temperatures, the lamp operates normally. However, a temporary flickering or instant blackout can occur by protective circuits. Maximum Operation Temperature The maximum temperature at which the lamp operates. If the lamp is used at the maximum temperature for an extended period of time, its lifetime and light output can be reduced, and it may cause a mechanical trouble at worst. If the lamp operates at the freezing temperature, a temporary flickering can occur when the lamp is turned on. If the lamp is turned on and off frequently at the freezing temperature, electronic circuits of the lamp can be damaged. Please wait for a second when turning a lamp if a temporary flickering occur or lighting blackout occurs. C.2. Average Expected Lifetime by Temperature Model Temp. When existing conventional lamps (such as, incandescent lamps, discharge lamps, fluorescent lamps) are used at high or low operation temperature, the lifetime and light output of the these lamps are also significantly reduced generally, and even sometimes the lamp can be broken. 18
