1 Samsung LED lighting: MR16 Energy-saving, cost-effective alternative to halogen lamps in a wide range of applications Samsung LED lighting: PAR Adjustable, high-performing, low-energy LED lamps Samsung testing shows that the LED MR16 uses far less energy and generates brighter lumens than conventional lighting. For example, a 3.6 W LED lamp can replace a 25 W halogen bulb and save up to 85 percent in energy consumption over the lifetime of the lamp. LED MR16 lasts up to 20 times longer than a halogen lamp, and unlike compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) technology, it contains no lead or mercury. This range is designed for businesses that want to switch to LED technology and its superior light quality at a relatively low cost. Essential LED MR16 lighting comes in models equivalent to 20 W and 35 W conventional bulbs. Lamps last up to 15,000 hours on average, seven times longer than halogen lamps. Performer Range. Designed for performance-oriented companies, Performer Range LED MR16 lamps include dimmability features. Performer Range lamps are available in models equivalent to 20 W, 35 W and 50 W halogen lamps. Several models are fully adjustable for intensity of light output and last up to 40,000 hours on average, 20 times longer than halogen lamps. Optimum Range. Organizations seeking best-in-class performance can benefit from Optimum Range LED MR16 lamps. Optimum Range lamps provide the highest quality in light distribution and offer a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of over 90. Reduce electricity consumption and avoid rising energy fees Whether installing new accent and display lights or retrofitting existing lamps, businesses can save energy by adopting LED MR16 lamps. The efficient MR16 LED technology requires fewer watts than conventional lighting. For example, an Essential Range lamp that draws 3.2 W can replace a conventional 20 W bulb and produce 67 lumens per watt. Samsung testing indicates that such performance can reduce electricity use and costs by more than 80 percent over the course of a year. Other LED MR16 lighting produces similar results: A Performer Range 4 W lamp can replace a 20 W halogen lamp, produce 200 lumens and last 40,000 hours, or 40.6 years. A Performer Range 5.8 W lamp can replace a 35 W halogen lamp, produce 350 lumens and last 30,000 hours, or 30.4 years. A Performer Range 7.7 W lamp can replace a 50 W halogen lamp, produce 420 lumens and last 25,000 hours, or 25.4 years. MR16 LED lamps are cooler than halogen lamps, and the light does not cause discoloration or fading. 2

3 A robust design with no glass or filaments provides safer handling. Install LED MR16 in standard fixtures without special tools LED MR16 uses a standard, bi-pin GU 5.3 socket holder and is compatible with an extensive range of transformers. The form factor meets ANSI specifications. LED MR16 GU5.3 is 50 mm (1.97 in.) in diameter and includes an antiglare lens. Users can choose a beam angle of 25 for accent lighting or 40 for more general lighting. With a surface temperature of -20 C to 40 C (-4 F to 104 F), lamps are comfortable to handle even when they have been in use. Samsung LED lighting also offers MR16 lamps with a GU10 base that contains the ballast. Enhance safety and improve lighting quality Because MR16 LED technology contains no lead or mercury, it meets the requirements of the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive adopted by the European Union. The technology is also certified by the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) and conforms to European Union (CE) standards. The robust LED MR16 does not use glass or filaments, reducing the risk of breakage. LED MR16 also does not emit harmful UV or IR radiation. Because LED lamps are cooler, light does not cause the discoloration or fading typical with conventional light sources.
