5 ressure relief valve D; DW 5/ Function, section: ype D General ressure valves of type D and DW are pilot-operated pressure relief valves. hey are used for limiting (D) or limiting and magnetically unloading (DW) the operating pressure. he pressure relief valves (D) basically consist of the main valve (1) with main spool insert () and pilot control valve () with pressure adjustment element. ressure relief valve type D he pressure applied to channel acts on the main spool (). At the same time, pressure is applied to the springloaded side of the main spool () and to the ball (8) in the pilot control valve () via the control lines (6) and (7) which are equipped with nozzles (4) and (5). If the pressure in channel exceeds the value set at the spring (9), the ball (8) opens against the spring (9). he signal for this is provided internally from channel via control lines (10) and (6). he hydraulic fluid on the spring-loaded side of main spool () now flows via the control line (7), nozzle bore (11) and ball (8) into the spring chamber (1). From here, it is fed into the tank, either internally for type D via control line (1), or externally for type D via control line (14). Nozzles (4) and (5) cause a pressure drop to occur at the main spool (), hence the connection from channel to channel opens. he hydraulic fluid now flows from channel to channel, whilst the set operating pressure is maintained. he pressure relief valve can be unloaded or switched to another pressure (second pressure rating) via port (15) RE 580, edition: 017-0, osch Rexroth AG

6 6/ D; DW ressure relief valve Function, section: ype DW ressure relief valve type DW he function of this valve is basically the same as that of valve type D. he unloading of the main spool () is, however, achieved by controlling the mounted directional spool valve (16). A 16 () ressure relief valve with switching shock damping (sandwich plate), version "DW /..S6E...R1" he opening of the connection from to 1 is delayed by means of the switching shock damping valve (17). ressure peaks and acoustic decompression shocks in the return line can thus be avoided. According to the ressure Equipment Directive 014/68/EU, the increase in the system pressure due to the flow must not exceed 10% of the set response pressure (see component marking page 16). Discharge lines (ports and ) of safety valves must end in a risk-free manner. An accumulation of fluids in the discharge system must not be possible (see data sheet AD000 A). If a lead seal at the safety valve is removed, the approval according to the ED will become invalid! he requirements of the ressure Equipment Directives 014/68/EU and of data sheet AD000 A must be generally observed! It is imperative to observe the application notes! In the plant, the response pressure specified in the component marking is set with a flow of 11 l/min. he maximum admissible flow stated in the component marking (= numerical value instead of the character "G" in the component marking, see page 16) must not be exceeded. It applies to: ilot oil return external ("") without counter pressure in the discharge line ; admissible counter pressure in the discharge line (port ) < 15 bar ilot oil return internal ("no code"). he maximum flow is only admissible without counter pressure in the discharge line (port ). With internal pilot oil return, the system pressure increases by the counter pressure in the discharge line (port ) due to the increasing flow (observe AD000 - data sheet; A, item 6.!) o ensure that this increase in system pressure caused by the flow does not exceed 10% of the set response pressure, the admissible flow has to be reduced dependent on the counter pressure in the discharge line (port ) see diagrams page 18 0). In case of counter pressure in the discharge line, the maximum possible flow is reduced. here is a relationship between maximum counter pressure p in the discharge line and flow q V, which can be seen from the following characteristic curve. Characteristic curves for intermediate values of the response pressure which are not listed must be determined by means of interpolation. When the flow approaches zero, the maximum counter pressure p is in each case 10% of the response pressure. With increasing flow, the maximum counter pressure p decreases. Interpolation of intermediate values from the diagram 1. At the axis p, mark 1/10 of the value of p A.. Determine the next lower and the next higher characteristic curve for this point. he point marked at p divides the section between lower and higher characteristic curve on the p axis with a certain percentage.. At the q Vmax axis, divide the section between next lower and next higher characteristic curve in the same percentage as the section at the p axis. From the zero position flow on the q Vmax axis determined in that way, draw a straight line to the value on the p axis marked before. 4. Mark the system flow to be secured at the q Vmax axis. 5.
