13 UNLOADER PILOT VALVES, NON VENTING STYLE Unloader Pilot Valves are Used In Compressed Air Systems to Actuate Another Device Using a Pneumatic (Air) Signal. Unloader Pilot Valves Always Work in Conjunction with Another Device. Pilot Valves Operate in a Set Pressure Range. The Range has an Unload Setting and a Load Setting. As a Compressor Operates in This Range, It is Said to Be Cycling. At the Unload Setting the Pilot Valves Opens and Actuates Another Device (Throttle Control, Discharge Valve). 14 UNLOADER PILOT VALVES, VENTING STYLE Piloted Unloader Valves are Used in Constant Speed Applications Where There are No Intake Unloaders Present. They Incorporate a Discharge Unloader on the Body of a Pilot Valve to Allow One Valve to Sense System Pressure and Vent Discharge Air to Atmosphere. At Load Pressure, the Pilot Valve Closes the Discharge Unloader and the Compressor Returns to Normal Operation. 20 THROTTLE CONTROLS & ACCESSORIES Applications: Used on Gas Engine Driven Compressors to Reduce Engine Speed to Idle. When the Continuous Run Control Pilot (Pilot Unloader Valve or Pilot Valve) has Reached It's Cut Out Setting It Saves Fuel and Reduces Engine and Compressor Wear. The 1/8 Male Inlet is Connected to the Throttle Control Port of the Vent Unloader or Connected to a Tee Off the Head Unloader Line for Pilot Valve Installations. The Cable is Attached to the Appropriate Throttle Linkage on the Engine. The Cable Housing Should be Anchored Using the Supplied Cable Clamps. During Operation the Vent Unloader or Pilot Valve Sends a Pressure Signal to the Throttle Control at the Cut Out Setting, Causing the Throttle Control Piston to Extend the Control Cable which Pushes the Throttle Lever, Causing the Engine to Idle Down. At the Cut In Setting the Pressure Signal Going to the Throttle Control is Vented, Allowing the Spring to Return the Piston Cable and Throttle Lever to the Original Full Speed Position.
