4 Operating Instructions Air Cleaning Mode Perfect Air Cleaning Operates Dust Collector. Anion Operates Anion Generator. Perfect Cleaning Air Flow Speed Controls Perfect Cleaning Air Flow Speed. (Low, Medium, High, Turbo) Convenient Functions Mode Turbo Operates the indoor fan motor(turbo) and compressor for 30 minutes regardless of the set temperature and put down the Air Flow Blades(Up/Down). Digital Flow Available for Cooling/Heating only. If you select any existing mode, Turbo, Save, or Health mode will be cancelled. Temperature will be set up by Cooling/Heating condition. Fan speed will be set up by Cooling/Heating condition. Save If you set Save at the preset temperature below 25 C, The preset temperature will change to 26 C to increase the room temperature by degrees. If you set Save at the preset temperature over 26 C, The preset temperature will go up minutely. To raise dust collecting efficiency, the Air Flow Blade(Up/Down) will start rotating automatically. Health Starts Perfect Air cleaning and generates anions. Self-diagnosis Function Displays an error message on the temperature display window of Panel Display. 5 2-2 Key Types and Functions Control Panel You can operate the air conditioner with the control panel when you can't or don't want to operate the air conditioner with the remote control. To operate the air conditioner, press the (On/Off) button. 1. Result: The air conditioner starts up in the mode selected when the unit was last used. The indoor unit beeps. If you want to stop, press the (On/Off) button once again. 2. Select the operating mode by pressing the button. 1. te -You can select each AUTO, COOL, DRY, FAN, HEAT mode. 3. To adjust temperature, press the buttons once or more times. 1. Result: If you finish setting the temperature, the current temperature indicates on the control panel. 4. To select the Turbo mode, press the button. 5. To select the perfect air cleaning function, press the button. 4

6 Operating Instructions Other Functions Lock function 1. Press the buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. 1. Result: indicates on the control panel. 1. Result: The control panel is locked. 1. Result: te: You can use the remote control even if the control panel is locked. 2. To cancel the lock function press the 3 seconds once again. buttons simultaneously for Air purity level display 1. 7 2-3 Check and Test Operation Check Be sure to check the following again after completion of installation. 1. Check the piping connection area for any gas leakage. Indoor connection area Outdoor connection area 2. Is the drain hose properly connected? 3. Is the insulation of the piping in good condition? 4. Is grounding properly made? Insulation Above 30m 6

8 Operating Instructions Test Operation After checking, read the owner s instructions carefully, and perform a test operation. Then deliver the unit to the customer. (When delivering the unit, be sure to read carefully and follow the contents of the owner s instructions.) Be sure to check whether the service valve is opened before attempting to perform the test operation. Be sure to perform the test operation after installation. It is easy to start the test operation in winter if you increase the sensor temperature to 23 C ~ 25 C by holding the indoor temperature sensor. (Cooling operation) When the outdoor temperature is below zero, do not test operation for more than 3 minutes. Otherwise, the compressor will be damaged. Temperature sensor 7

Disassembly and Reassembly Stop operation of the air conditioner and remove the power cord before repairing the unit. 3-1 Indoor Unit Parts Procedure Remark 1 Indoor Unit 1) Stop the air conditioner and shut off the Main Power. 2) Open the ass'y Inlet and detach the connection hook. 3) Loosen 2 fixing screws at the bottom of the ass'y Panel Display. 4) Detach the connection wire between the Main PCB and the Display. 8

10 Disassembly and Reassembly Parts Procedure Remark 5) Detach the other wires connected to the Main PCB. 6) Loosen 3 fixing screws between the ass'y Shutter and the Perfect Cleaner. 7) Loosen 2 fixing screws at the bottom of the ass'y Shutter. 8) Lift the ass'y Shutter to detach it. 9

11 Disassembly and Reassembly Parts Procedure Remark 9) Loosen 4 fixing screws on both sides of the Perfect Cleaner. 10) Lift the Perfect Cleaner to detach it. 11) Detach the ass'y Cover Evaporator-Up. 12) Loosen 2 fixing screws to connect the ass'y Panel Drain and the Cabinet. 13) Pull the ass'y Evaporator upward toward you to detach it. 10

Troubleshooting Troubleshooting procedures 1 Check the items to check first time. 2 Check the self-diagnostic mode and action method. 3 Check in detail the troubled parts according to the sequence of "trouble shooting by the phenomena". 5-1 The Items to be checked first time 1. Is proper the power voltage? The power voltage shall be of 198V-264V 50Hz. 2. Is the cable connected correctly between the indoor and outdoor unit? The indoor and outdoor units shall be connected with 8 wires including the grounding. Check whether the wires of indoor and outdoor units are connected with the correct wire no. and terminal board no. 3. The phenomena in the following table is not related to the fault of air conditioner Phenomena - Heating operation The compressor does not operated even though the set temperature is set higher than the indoor temperature. - Cooling operation The compressor does not operated even though the set temperature is set lower than the indoor temperature. - Fan speed is not adjusted during the auto, dry, turbo and long operation. - The temperature is not adjusted during the auto, dry, turbo and long and fan operation. - The compressor repeats the stop and start with the interval of several minutes during dry. - During the heating operation, the lamp on "deice" is on at the control panel and the compressor operates. - During the heating, the outdoor unit fan motor repeats start/stop or even the compressor repeats the start and stop. - During the heating, the compressor and outdoor unit fan motor operate but indoor unit fan motor does not operate. Description - The operation of compressor is delayed for 3 minutes for the protection of compressor when it is off and on again. - The compressor operates normally after 3 minutes even the lnitial power is on. - The fan speed is automatically adjusted during the auto, dry, turbo and long operation. - The set temperature is automatically set during the auto, dry and long operation. - The wind blow operation is the mode to circulate the indoor air. - At the dry operation, the set temperature and the indoor temperature are compared to adjust the compressor start/stop time in order to dehumidify. - The deice operation is being performed in order to melt the frost by outdoor unit and its maximum time is 9 minutes. - It is the function to prevent the overheating of the indoor evaporator, where the temperature of indoor unit heat exchanger reaches 52 C, the normal operation is done. - This is the function to prevent the cooling air incoming to the indoor, where the temperature of indoor evaporator reaches 27 C, the indoor fan motor operates. 24

(5 1 : 12V, 5 2 : 5V) - Check both the connection wire and the Temperature Sensor. - Check both the connection wire and the Temperature Sensor. 25

27 5-3 Troubleshooting by Phenomena When it is not Power on. (When it is not Displayed.) 1. Causes of Failure 1) Power voltage out of the motion boundary or poor power cord contact. 2) Main PCB fuse cut or poor PCB. 3) Poor panel PCB, poor assembly of tact switch, poor LED display. 2. Inspection Items 1) Power voltage? (AC198V ~ AC264V) 2) Power cord contact? 3) Power fuse(f701) and PCB fuse(f101)? 4) Output voltage of U303(KA7805) (DC4.5V ~ DC5.5V)? 5) Connection harness between Main PCB and panel PCB? 3. Inspection Procedure Turn power off and on in 5 seconds. Press OPER key. LED Lights on and shutter open? Good set operation Power voltage normal (Fuse : AC AC)? AC198V ~ AC264V Check wire between indoor unit & outdoor unit. Exchange wire. Check U303 output voltage, 5V? Inspect and exchange Main PCB. Check voltage of CN901 #1 5 of panel PCB, 12V? If yes, then Inspect and exchange panel PCB(Poor panel PCB). 26

28 Troubleshooting When Indoor Fan Motor does not operate. 1. Causes of Failure 1) Power voltage out of the motion boundary or poor power cord contact. 2) Poor motor driving condenser or poor contact. 3) Motor cut or short. 4) Connecting harness cut or poor contact. 5) Poor Main PCB : poor relay (RY705 ~ RY708) 2. Inspection Items 1) Power voltage? (AC198V ~ AC264V) 2) Connection of motor connecting harness? 3) Contact of Fan motor driving condenser terminal? 3. Inspection Procedure Turn power off and on in 5 seconds. Control both operating mode key and remote control key to enter ''FAN'' mode. Select Turbo, High, Medium or Low by Fan speed key, then check the speed of Indoor Fan Motor. Good Indoor Fan motor Select Turbo, High, Medium or Low by Fan speed key, then see if RY708(Low), RY707(Medium), RY706(High), or RY705(Turbo) operates. Good relay Check Fan speed output wave style of pins. MICOM(U101)#20, 21, 22 and 23 "HIGH"? MICOM(U101) Inspection and exchange Check relay coil edge voltage for each Fan speed(turbo/high/medium/low), DC12V? Check Fan speed output wave style of pins. U104 #10, #11, #12 and #13, "LOW"? Inspect and exchange U104. Check indoor Fan motor edge voltage, AC220V? Check connecting harness cut. Inspect and exchange indoor Fan motor. 27

29 Troubleshooting When Compressor does not operate. 1. Causes of Failure 1) Power voltage out of the motion boundary or poor power cord contact. 2) Poor wiring or poor contact between indoor and outdoor. 3) Poor Main PCB : poor relay (RY702) 2. Inspection Items 1) Power voltage? (AC198V ~ AC264V) 2) Wiring and contact between indoor and outdoor? 3) Compressor to check out 3 minutes delay(stand-by)? 4) Set temperature for "Cooling", comparing with current temperature? 3. Inspection Procedure Turn power off and on in 5 seconds. Start cooling by remote control, both relay(ry702) and compressor on in 3 minutes? Good compressor and relay Check Fan speed output wave style of pins. MICOM(U101) #26 during compressor on, "HIGH"? Inspect and exchange MICOM(U101). Check relay(ry702) coil edge voltage during compressor on, DC12V? Check Fan speed output wave style of pins. U104 #16, "LOW"? Inspect and exchange U104. Outdoor power type : check edge. 1 3 of wire between indoor and outdoor during compressor on. Inspect and exchange power relay(pcb position). Exchange compressor. 28

30 Troubleshooting When the Air flow blade(right/left) of Left side does not operate. 1. Causes of Failure 1) Cut or poor contact of motor connecting harness of the Air flow blade(right/left) of left side. 2) Defect by device hanging. 3) Poor Main PCB. 4) Poor stepping motor. 2. Inspection Items 1) Contact of motor connecting harness of the Air flow blade(right/left) of left side? 2) Output wave style from panel PCB port(port) during motor on? 3. Inspection Procedure Turn on and turn the Air flow blade(right/left) on with remote control. Check swing of the Air flow blade(right/left) of left side, OK? Good motor of the Air flow blade(right/left) of left side. Check connector wire, cut or wrong? Inspect and exchange connection Harness. Check voltage between Main PCB CN201. #5, 6 and GND, DC12V? Exchange Panel PCB. Check wave style from Main PCB CN201. #1, #2, #3, #4 spherical? Inspect and exchange U202. Exchange the Air flow blade(right/left) of left side. 29

31 Troubleshooting When the Air flow blade(right/left) of right side does not operate. 1. Causes of Failure 1) Cut or poor contact of motor connecting harness of the Air flow blade(right/left) of right side. 2) Defect by device hanging. 3) Poor Main PCB. 4) Poor stepping motor. 2. Inspection Items 1) Contact of motor connecting harness of the Air flow blade(right/left) of right side? 2) Output wave style from panel PCB port(port) during motor on? 3. Inspection Procedure Turn on and turn the Air flow blade(right/left) on with remote control. Check swing of the Air flow blade(right/left) of right side, OK? Good motor of the Air flow blade(right/left) of right side. Check connector wire, cut or wrong? Inspect and exchange connection harness. Check voltage between Main PCB CN201. #11, 12 and GND, DC12V? Exchange panel PCB. Check wave style from Main PCB CN201. #7, #8, #9, #10, spherical? Inspect and exchange U202. Exchange the Air flow blade(right/left) of right side. 30

32 Troubleshooting When the Air flow blade(up/down) does not operate. 1. Causes of Failure 1) Cut or poor contact of motor connecting harness of the Air flow blade(up/down). 2) Defect by device hanging. 3) Poor Main PCB. 4) Poor stepping motor 2. Inspection Items 1) Contact of motor connecting harness of the Air flow blade(up/down)? 2) Output wave style from panel PCB port(port) during motor on? 3. Inspection Procedure Turn on and turn the Air flow blade(up/down) on with remote control. Check swing of the Air flow blade(up/down), OK? Good motor of the Air flow blade(up/down) Check connector wire, cut or wrong? Inspect and exchange connection harness. Check voltage between Main PCB CN202. #5 and GND, DC12V? Exchange panel PCB. Check wave style from Main PCB CN202. #1, #2, #3, #4, spherical? Inspect and exchange U204. Exchange the Air flow blade(up/down). 31

33 Troubleshooting When remote control does not operate. 1. Causes of Failure 1) Low remote control voltage. 2) Poor receiving module of panel PCB remote control. 2. Inspection Items 1) Check "Beep" sound from the indoor unit panel. This indicates normal signal transmission from remote control. 3. Inspection Procedure Turn power off and on in 5 seconds. Press On/Off button on panel, then real temperature displayed and start running? Check the inspection items during power off. Press On/Off button on remote control, then "Beep" sound and stop running? rmal Check remote control battery voltage, over DC2.5V? Exchange the battery. Press On/Off button on remote control after exchanged, in normal operation? Exchange remote control. Check wave style from panel PCB MICOM U101 Pin. #20, spherical? Exchange panel PCB receiving module. Exchange panel PCB MICOM(IC101). 32

34 Troubleshooting When Dust Collector does not operate. 1. Causes of Failure 1) HVPS connecting harness cut or poor contact. 2) Reed switch harness cut, wrong wiring, or poor contact. 3) Dust collecting plate short. 4) Poor part of HVPS. 2. Inspection Items 1) Connection of HVPS connecting harness? 2) Connection of reed switch harness? 3. Inspection Procedure Turn power off and on in 5 seconds. Power on and Air cleaner on with remote control. Check voltage between CN710. #1 #2, DC12V? Inspect and exchange Main PCB. Check MICOM Pin. #23, "HIGH"? Inspect and exchange MICOM(U101). Check MICOM Pin. #15, "LOW"? Inspect and exchange U12. Check voltage between HVPS input edges, DC12V? Check if the connecting harness was cut. Inspect and exchange HVPS assembly You are not able to check the input voltage of HVPS unless Reed switch contacts the magnet. 33

35 Troubleshooting When Anion Generator does not operate. 1. Causes of Failure 1) Perfect(Electrostatic dust collector) breakdown. 2) Reed switch harness cut or poor contact. 3) Poor anion generator connecting harness. 4) Poor part of anion generator. 2. Inspection Items 1) Connecting harness? 2) Connection of reed S/W harness? 3. Inspection Procedure Turn power off and on in 5 seconds. Perfect on and Anion generator on.
