5 General Thank you for purchasing the TL-000C continuous duty tamp labeler. The TL- 000C system is known for its high quality and operating simplicity. With proper maintenance it will provide years of dependable and trouble free service. Our equipment is manufactured to the strictest standard and is thoroughly tested before being released into the field. However, sometimes a problem may arise that is not covered by the scope of this manual. If a situation as such occurs, further technical support is just a phone call away. 7 TL-000C Threading Diagram C D J E F L Threading: K I H. Remove outer unwind disk () install new label roll and replace disk.. Route label web under idler roller (C).. Route label web around idler roller (D).. Thread label web through label sensor (E). 5. Route label web around the bottom of roller (F).. Route around peel plate (G), be sure not to thread the label web around the air assist tube (H).. Thread web around the bottom of roller (I) wrapping web around the traction roller (J) Rotate locking cam (K) down allowing pinch roller to swing open. Then route label between pinch roller (L). Then lock pinch roller back into place by rotating the locking cam (K) up.. Remove rewind clip and route web from pinch roller under the rewind mandrel and reattach rewind clip. G Page.
8 Pinch Roll Cam Lock djustment Traction Roller Pinch Roller llen Bolt Cam Lock djustment is necessary if the backing paper is not being pulled through the labeler smoothly. Cam Lock djustment:. Turn the Power off to labeler and unplug it from the power source.. Unlock the cam as if you were going to thread the labeler.. Insert allen wrench into the allen bolt in the cam lock.. Locate the nut that is holding the cam lock. 5. Insert a socket onto the nut and loosen it.. Move the cam down towards the pinch roll. Remember you have to lock it so don t move it down too far.. Tighten the cam lock nut and try it again.. Repeat if necessary. Page.0
9 Peel Bar Cover Replacement Replacement: Peel Bar Covering. Turn power off and unplug the labeler.. Move the tamp pad out of your way.. Remove the old covering by peeling it off.. Clean all the old adhesive off of the peel bar. 5. Remove the blue liner.. pply the new cover. Page.
10 Photo Eye djustment Photo Eye Mode:. Insert liner only into the photo eye.. Press and hold the normal button for three seconds. The red light will shut off, then the green light will begin to flash. When the red light comes on the photo eye has been taught, release the button. Page.
11 Machine Startup Unpack TL-000C tamp labeler system from the shipping container. Inspect the labeler for damage during shipping. If damage is observed, please notify TL before continuing. Place the labeler on a firm level surface. Plug the labeler into a 0 VC 5 MP (GROUNDED) Outlet. Note: Extension cords may result in improper labeler operation, and are not recommend by TL. 5 Connect the labeler to a sufficient air supply. Note: air requirements are 0 PSIG clean dry air, although your label may not require that much air. Thread machine per section page.. Note: To avoid inadvertent operation always thread machine with the power switch in the off position. Page.
12 Machine Startup Power Switch. Turn power switch ( located on top of machine ) on.. Check label setup by moving something in front of the product photo eye to advance one label ( See page. for label setup ). Tamp Head Set Collar 9. Set the tamp stroke by placing the product under the tamp pad. Disconnect the air supply and move the tamp pad to the product to be labeled. Loosen the tamp head set collar so it limits the stroke of the tamp head, tighten collar and reconnect air supply. Page.
13 Tamp Pad djustment Loosen For djustment () Cylinder Rod Nut C B djustment of ( ): The height of the peel plate and the tamp pad will vary with different labels but, for a place to start is to have the peel plate and the tamp pad to be even. You can move it up or down from there. Watch the label move between the peel plate and the tamp pad, if the label has to go up for the transfer of the label to the tamp pad, move the pad down. If the label runs into the tamp pad you must move the tamp up. You can make fine adjustment of the tamp by loosening the cylinder rod nut and turning the cylinder rod ( Don t unthread the rod too much or you could damage the thread when you run your labeler in production ). Note: You want the tamp pad to be as low as possible without hitting the tamp pad. Page.
14 Tamp Pad djustment Screw located behind slotted plate C B djustment of (B): The distance between the tamp pad and the peel plate should be as close as possible without hitting the peel plate when the tamp head travels down. To adjust the distance, loosen the two screws located behind the slotted plate. Note: The tamp pad must be level to your product when you are done adjusting the tamp pad in both and B adjustments. 15 Tamp Pad djustment C B djustment of (C): The air assist tube can be adjusted in two ways, rotation and air flow. Rotation: On the far side of the tube there is a clamp, loosen the screw and you can rotate the tube. It should be rotated about to the center of the tamp head. If the rotation is not adjusted the air will get under the label and it will fly off the tamp pad. ir Flow djustment ir Flow: The air flow should be adjusted so that the label lifts to the tamp pad as the label is being dispensed. If you have too much air from the air assist tube the label will not transfer to the tamp pad smoothly and could fly off the tamp pad all together. Page.
16 Label Set Up Shorter Sensor Bracket Label dvance Longer - + Label Speed Dial Label Set Up: djust the label advance dial all the way to the minus. Dispense a label, now rotate the label advance dial to the plus until the label stops on the front edge of the peel plate without going over the edge. The TL-000C has a label speed feature that will help you dispense some of the most difficult labels or help you obtain faster cycle times. Note: If you adjust the speed of the label, you will have to readjust the label advance for that speed. Page.
17 Tamp Head Dwell Time B djusting Dwell Time:. Turn the labeler off; unplug the power cord from power source.. Remove the electric cover by removing the screws.. Locate the potentiometer ( & B) located on the electrical board. Potentiometer () determines the time for the tamp head to advance out, (B) determines the time for the tamp head to return back.. Clockwise makes the time longer; counter clockwise makes the time shorter. 5. If you need more time than it will adjust see page.9. Page.
18 Tamp Head Speed Speed Flow Control djustment Screws djusting Tamp Head Speed:. Turning the speed flow control screw clockwise makes the tamp travel slower.. Turning the speed flow control screw counter clockwise makes the tamp travel faster.. One side is for the tamp head extend, the other side is for the tamp head return. Page.9

20 000C System General Maintenance Cleaning Instructions: D B C. Label rollers: The rollers should be cleaned and checked for wear every 500 hours of operation. The rollers can be cleaned with a mild detergent or isopropyl alcohol. B. Label Sensor: The photoelectric label sensor should be inspected every 500 hours of operation or if erratic label placement becomes a problem. ir blow off is recommended for cleaning fiber optic ends. C. Pinch Roller: The pinch roller should be inspected for unwanted debris every time the system is rethreaded. Isopropyl alcohol should be used to remove adhesive build up. NOTE: never use a knife or any other sharp object to remove labels or adhesive, damage to roller will occur. D. Traction Roller: The traction roller should be inspected for unwanted debris every time the system is re-threaded. Isopropyl alcohol should be used to remove adhesive build up. Page.
21 General Maintenance. Peel Plate: The peel edge should be inspected for wear every 500 hours of operation and for adhesive buildup every time the system is rethreaded. B B. Unwind Felt Slip Disk: This braking surface should be periodically checked to ensure that the felt disk is clean and dry. If this disk has excessive dirt or oil, replace with part #05. Page.
22 Filter Element Replacement: Preventive Maintenance Spring nd Pin In This Part ir Spinner C Filter Cap B B C. It is best if you remove the filter / regulator from the machine, but not necessary, watch the spring and pin so you don t lose them and you know how they go back in the housing.. Remove filter cap.. Unscrew filter.. Note the air spinner, to return it in the proper direction. 5. Replace all parts, (sold as kit only #090).. ssemble the filter / regulator. Note: THIS SHOULD BE REPLCED WHEN DIRTY OR OILY. Page.
23 Preventive Maintenance Fuse Installation:. Disconnect power from the labeler by unplugging the labeler.. Remove the fuse cap from the labeler by rotating the fuse cap counterclockwise.
